This to many might be a small event but for me it's a big enough deal to say thank you in this thread:

Finally a very clear and prominent icon at the left of the event's name of a padlock slapped a big smile on my face. So convenient, so smart and as far as I know, no one has ever asked for it before -- including myself. Just right and wonderful. Thank you!📯

All of our company presets are gone and everything went to default settings! Please think of this when you release all-new versions and builds. When this happens it costs small companies like our thousands of $$$ fixing, researching how to fix, and making new templates. It's killing us each time you do it. How do we get back our project video presets? We have a LOT for each client. PLUS nothing works as it did before because all the settings we had, like "enable .mov", are all reset. spent an hour today just trying to figure out how to fix that.

This is why our company skips every other version of Vegas (2 or 3 years) because it costs us, on average, 15-20k to get everything working again (according to our books).

It HAS to be seamless or it's a disaster for our clients and contracts with them. They all need separate settings, renders, and setups. All saved in our presets. They also give little to no time for unexpected problems like this. So, get it done or you're fired.

Same here sadly. I upgraded with confidence thinking that all my presets and custom settings will still be there after the update, and now all is lost and I have to research & redo everything. 😥

My editing machine specs: Intel i9700k CPU @3.6ghz, Rog Strix gaming RTX2080 graphic card, 64GB DDR4 Corsair memory @4300MHz, Corsair power supply HX850i Platinum, Asus Maximux Formula XI gaming motherboard,

@Frankyboy It is unclear whether they are temporarily hidden or permanently deleted and cannot be found.  Waiting for official reply.

Try the following methods to see if they are helpful:

1. Delete the entry 9998 in the registry location Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Sony Creative Software\Vegas Pro\19.0\Metrics\Application

2. If it doesn't work. You can try Vegasaur Preset Manager to see if you can find your presets back and backup it.

3. Rollback to b550 to see if they are still exist or disapper. http://dl05.magix.net//2021/VEGASPro19/VEGAS_Pro_19.0.0.550_DE-EN-FR-ES_5738C9B6.exe

So opened up Vegas and was greeted by the update. Well, the 636 update indicated it installed successfully, and then when I restarted Vegas, it came up asking me to update the deep learning models. So I run the deep learning installer, and that also indicates it completed successfully. So I restart Vegas Pro to check out the update and at least 20 minutes later the Vegas boot up sequence still won't complete, because it is hung at the "Creating Windows" step. It seems I have no choice but to go into windows task manager and end task Vegas to see if it will open on a second attempt... So I tried that, and my Vegas Pro seemed to freeze again when "Creating Windows" and still wouldn't open. Really, really, not cool. BUT, just before posting this, I decided to double check to ensure the software hadn't made a liar out of me while I was typing, and sure enough, it had eventually opened on the second attempt without the 20 minute wait. Not sure what to make of that, but I'll cross my fingers as things seem to working now. My first failed attempt did go to Magix in a software generated error report. So, if you encounter a freeze/lock-up on the deep learning model install, end task and just try re-loading Vegas. Doesn't mean that it isn't an installation bug of some sort, but at least it looks like I can use the software again.

Like last time, if I try to download from the link in the announcement on the News forum I get a warning: "File not downloaded: Potential security risk".

Here are direct links that should work:

These are also in the "Where can I download..." post.

Ran into two problems. First one, when I use the Picture in Picture effect black lines show up (show in the first image). Second one, I'm not abled to render using my AMD graphics card anymore.

Some of my PC specs:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 6-Core Processor 6 Cores
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT
32GB Ram
- I'm running Windows 11 also!
- I saw earlier that someone mentioned a chat line for tech support. I completely support that idea!

There is a chat line for tech support already... but I forgot how to access it unfortunately. Someone else here may have a link.

As for you issue with GPU support, try updating your driver, and be sure to use the driver update utility in the VEGAS help menu to pick the driver you need, don't just go to AMD's website, VEGAS will recommend what works best with it.

An interesting side effect in b636, when hovering the mouse pointer over any of the item selections in the 'Edit Visible Button Set ...' context window in a video event, I got the Nahimic effect - wierd distorted text. I thought that Nahimic was disabled but maybe it was reactivated when upgrading to Windows 11. Following the multi-step Nahimic disabling process, the text now displays properly.

For anyone who needs to disable Nahimic, the steps I followed were:

  • Stopping Nahimic in Task Manager/Processes is not enough as it starts running again on rebooting the computer. To properly disable Nahimic, R click NahimicService in Task Manager/Services (not Processes) and then select Open Services. A new window opens. R click Nahimic service and click on Properties in the window that opens. In the context box that opens, select Disabled in the Startup type field, then hit the Stop button, click Apply and then OK. All done. Nahimic now remains disabled on rebooting the computer.

@fr0sty Online Live Chat (advice). It's mainly for "pre-sales questions and registration help" ,but " guys will forward anything they can't handle to the right people". The advice is also in one of @NickHope's FAQs, item 6. (Note that it's currently Central Daylight Time in Madison WI US.)

A link to the current New features document (up to b 636) is in this post. (I didn't/don't get the warning on either of my two devices.)

@PPT-Edits please post your issue in a new thread ("New post"). It may not be duly noticed in this general thread.

@fr0sty, I updated to B636. The 3 images with Graide Color Match play back fine. But, when I opened a project that I finished in B550 and successfully rendered out without issue, there were audio glitches like a scratch between clips that played back fine in B550. Then the "white screen of death". I was doing nothing except playing back a previous finished project.

Restarting B636 and playing back the same project, it played back, but again, there were various locations for some unknown reason that had the loud "scratch". Some clips had the waveform attached below. Others had nothing in the audio track. I scratch my head on this one.

I have to head out now, so won't be able to reinstall B550 and double check. But that loud scratch would have been audible in the rendered file and also during timeline playback.

@Paul-Fierlinger.... I am looking and I don't see any padlock on the track heards. Can you (or anyone) provide a screenshot of this?

Just updated Vegas now as I thought this update might have been to fix the missing box issue when rendering but it hasn't.

However when I opened a project it says about the plug in's are not installed on this system, the GL Transitions which I need, do I have to install the plug in's again I got when I purchased Vegas as I'm really not sure which this came from (I found it a bit daunting when first installing and wasn't fully sure but got there in the end).

It's these here:

{Svfx:de.magix:glTransition} - Transition
{Svfx:de.magix:glTransition} - Transition
{Svfx:de.magix:glTransition} - Transition
{Svfx:de.magix:glTransition} - Transition
{Svfx:de.magix:glTransition} - Transition
{Svfx:de.magix:glTransition} - Transition
{Svfx:de.magix:glTransition} - Transition
{Svfx:de.magix:glTransition} - Transition

Can anyone be do kind to let me know how to get them back?

Thank you so much and hope to hear from you soon ❤️🙏

Edit: Just opened another project and the same thing with an even longer list, this has just ruined a load of projects. Any idea how to get these Open GL Transitions back, I'm hoping I just need to reinstall the plug in's somehow as seeing other people's problems here mine is nothing compared to them so please know I appreciate any help dearly.

For all users who want to install this build, I personally recommend exporting the registry key 【HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Sony Creative Software\Vegas Pro\19.0】 into a .reg file to prevent the loss of preferences, UI placement (not the layout file), project presets, etc reported by many forum users / social media users.

If build 636 deletes your user data, you can roll back to build 550 and double-click .reg file to restore the data.

I just want to say how I appreciate everyone's help, it seems this update has caused a lot of problems for a lot of people. I bought Vegas in February/March and this is the first time I've updated the software from an update so had no idea the problems it can cause when doing updates.

I was speaking with Vegas quite a bit the past few weeks about the missing render box issue and they asked me to try loads of fixes as well as deleting registry entry keys which they said in bold letters how you have to do this right and to be very careful and ask someone to help you if you're not comfortable with it, which I'm not and I don't have anyone to help me either, so we then spoke about them putting out an update to fix this, which is what I thought this update might have been.

But it hasn't fixed this (which is fine as I understand it might take a bit for them to fix the problem and I'm absolutely fine with that) however all my Open GL Transitions have gone and this has ruined loads of my projects, pretty much all of them really so I REALLY want and need them back and I don't know how to do so. ❤️🙏

However seeing some people's other problems here mine is nothing, so I hope that those people can get theirs sorted first because specially @DarkMinds issue for example, it's heartbreaking how they can put an update out and not even cover these things to make sure they are ok though hopefully Magix will fix that in their own time as updates can also be trial and error and they might not have realised, it's just a case of if they do fix or not really 😊

I hope everyone gets sorted anyway however I will hesitate now in regards to future updates as I genuinely thought this was going to fix the issue we'd been speaking about to Magix the past few weeks or so as we spoke about an update in that conversation.

I hope all is well for everyone anyway ❤️🙏😊

@VEGAS_CommunityManager what is the current time window when Online Live Chat is actually available?

It's now 9:55am (CDT, GMT-5) in Madison WI US and the Chat is on. I thought the time window was 12pm-4pm weekdays.

Like others had mentioned, settings in the Options Preferences area reset. Not a big deal in my case after googling all of what I needed to change. My custom render type survived the update.

The update process itself tends to have issues. I usually resort to letting the application download the main update setup file and then go into the Vegas temp directory to run them after I close the program. Otherwise I sometimes have issues. This time the update process tried to update the learning models before actually updating the program which seemed to cause an issue for me. I was able to get around it by running the update and then thankfully the program realized the models needed updated with my first run of 636.

Part of the issue could be whatever server they use to host these update files can't handle so many people trying to download the update at the same time. I think my first attempt resulted in a corrupted setup file but I'm not totally sure. Maybe some type of staggered update system could help if a better file host isn't possible.

Hi, I don't know if this will help but I've just spent about an hour on the chat with Eric, who was lovely by the way and spent time with me to try fix this and one of the things he asked me to do was install the deep learning models which he helped me do however it didn't fix the issue for me and he's opened a ticket.

I'm not sure if it helps in regards to your situation however when you mentioned the learning models then, this is what Eric had me install also but it didn't fix anything.

I hope this helps 😊
