It would be interesting if the welcome screen had the last autosave. That autosave when vegas crashes and tries to recover.

Good idea. We've been buzzing with all kinds of ideas behind the scenes for ways the welcome screen could be used to organize projects, ingest/convert and tag/organize media, etc.. they're looking at some really cool possibilities, while also doing the best they can to add more stuff without bloating it into something that defeats its purpose.

But I really enjoyed this welcome screen, it gave Vegas a new face!

@m3lquixd The Welcome Screen is really just a prototype right now. We are evaluating exactly what we should put in it and what will be most beneficial to users...especially users coming to VEGAS Pro for the first time. Nice idea for the last autosave. We will add that to the list of considerations.

m3lquixd wrote on 1/23/2023, 2:12 PM

@VEGASDerek I would like you to consider this idea as well.

After the update, every time I add a video to the timeline and attempt to click on the video in the video track, Vegas proceeds to hang "Not responding" and one of my CPU cores is on 100% utilization. (EDIT: Once I started complaining here, it has resolved itself... after 5 restarts...)

hambonio wrote on 1/23/2023, 4:08 PM

I used the news feed prompt to tell it I wanted to update VP20 now. I clicked yes, and it seemed very slow to download. I ran to the grocery store and did some other errands and came home and the update was not even 50% downloaded 3 hours later. I decided to try and cancel the update and try again overnight - however now I cannot open VP20 at all. I wish I kept the old version install file somewhere.... I just logged into my account to use the download manager and the download has been sitting at 0% progress for 20 minutes so far. Not sure why my old VP20 wont work considering I never went through with the update.

That's strange... hang in there, the servers are bogged down right now. Hopefully by later tonight things will clear up some.

That's that new AI-assisted error fixer that they snuck in, 😂

The slow downloads are an unfortunate side effect of our server infrastructure, which is sadly out of date. We are actively working on a cloud based solution but it is unclear when we will be able to be able to rollout this upgrade. (It's kinda out of the control of the VEGAS engineering team...the slow downloads affect the team too.)

Haha, that would be a nice feature 😁

Unfortunately, the crashing does keep coming back...

Could be something simple... please make a new thread (if we try to help you here, it'll get buried under other people's posts), we'll get your issue sorted.

My initial update hung. Apparently, at the end of step one, the uninstall, something happened, and it could not proceed. I rebooted my system and used the initial installer I had downloaded when I upgrade to Version 20. When Vegas reloaded, it was at the newest version. However, I am having some issues trying to get Izotope Ozone 10 to work. I will submit some requests to Izotope and see where that goes.

impressive list of crashes bugs and broken features for me so far. Maybe start with getting Vegas to reliably open when you click the icon, guys? I mean that much, at least ?? What happened to Frosty's vaunted beta testers?

Maybe rule out that it isn't an isolated case due to an issue with your system before spewing hatred towards the team? At least try to get assistance first?

Voukoder crashes every time I try to render. Doesn't matter which encoder I use.
I know it's on Voukoder to update this, but thought it was worth bringing up.

Uninstalled Voukoder, reinstalled along with a fresh install of the connector, same issue.

Hi @mofobo
I was worried when I read your message about Voukoder not working in VP20 build #326. I have just installed VP20 build version #326 and Voukoder is working 100% OK on my computer.
What I recommend you try is two things - this is exactly what I did:
1. Not sure if it makes a difference, but I downloaded the VP20 Voukoder Connector from "20" download link, instead of using the generic 1.6.0 link. I also made sure to install latest 12.1 version of Voukoder (like you have already done).
2. Do a full program reset for VP20. I have found in the past, that sometimes after installing an update for Vegas Pro, some 3rd party apps and FX fail to work after updating. Resetting Vegas forces a fresh re-scan of all Apps and FX installed on your system. I'm sure you know how to do a reset. If not, I have instructions on my own website here.

Hello Vegas community and developers of VEGAS Pro.
I've been away for a while due to ongoing health problems and am currently waiting to get some neuro-surgery, which should help a lot.

Thanks for the latest update to VEGAS Pro 20! I'm very happy to see the continual development of Vegas Pro.
So far, so good. Build #326 is working 100% OK on my system and I am not experiencing any of the problems mentioned by some users.

Thanks to all the Beta testers as well (sorry I haven't been able to help this past year).

I love the new Welcome screen. This is long overdue. I'm quite sure this simple new addition will be loved by many of the Vegas Movie Studio users, who have now upgraded to VEGAS Pro. The new Colour Correction functions are also a great addition, with everything else that has been added.

Thank you 😃

@mofobo - Working at Lightning speed here. I use it within HOS KwikPreview as my preferered hand-off FrameServer Renderer for Previewing:

And, as a straight Render As, it's fast and furious.
