I know this isn't everything I wanted to see, but assuming nothing else broke during this fix, I'll take it. I'm darn nervous about going to it right now though based on past experiences.

Hopefully others can flesh some things out and I can get on board.

And long periods of non-responsiveness in x64 bit version. Didn't see this in the 9c x32, so I'll see how 9d x32 does now...

Seems they've added a few new features, addressed a long list of minor bugs, and done nothing about the big show stoppers. Then again they've never even acknowledged them so maybe they fixed them on the quiet.

Loading a project with 781 HDV clips. worked perfectly fine this morning in 9c 32 bit, but 9d x32 and x64 get stuck when building peaks. 0% 4 of 781...

I'm running Vista x64 SP1 with 8 gigs of DDR2, for what it's worth.

9d x32 seems to be worse than 9d x64, and both are worse than 9c x32...

I didn't install the 64bit version, so that I still have the 9.0c working...

well just finished downloading both, but i think i'm going to wait till some other brave souls have tried out both 32 and 64 before i venture out into unknown territory....

too early for any concrete comment, but i do hope what i've just read is an aberration (without any reflection on megabits and tlf's systems). if not, well, exactly how did scs beta test this release so that such an obvious fact as mxf not showing up could be missed?

Well, I got my mxfs back.

BUT, both 32 and 64bit installers still seem to have serios problems with user rights handling.

Just curious. Are you saying you have 781 HDV clips (events) on the timeline -- or in the project media bin? I'd assume you are saying that the timelne has 781 HDV events. -- about how long is the project? You list "Intel Core2Duo 6600" as your CPU. Is this a Quad Core Q6600?

I just tried to load about 3 hours of AVCHD to the project media bin all at once. It Crashed 9.0d 64 bit. Of course it also crashes 9.0c 32 bit. Not much of a problem for me as I generally can find away around loading 3 hours of AVCHD at once. I got 9.0d to load 2 hours of AVCHD (285 events loaded about 50 events at a time) to the timeline -- saved it -- reopened with no problem. Of course no filters, no other media etc. Not really a test and not a workflow I'd likely ever use. I like to break things down to shorter sections. But there might be reasons why someone would need a huge timeline.

I ran some old AVCHD veg files through 9.0d 64 with no problems. But way too soon to say if all is well. Strange that Sony mentions nothing about the "JPEG and AVCHD" issue in the list of things fixed. I'll soon discover it that was fixed.

781 HDV events on the timeline; same number in the project media list.The issue seems to be that zooming in and out of the timeline, or scrolling left and right causes long periods of non-responsiveness.

I've just tried 9c and there are no such issues.

And my system is dual core and 9c has never had any issues with it.

Ok. Got it. Dual core. I"m not sure my i5-750 would handle your project. Seems as if you've hit a wall. It's a familiar pattern that new versions of Vegas require faster CPU's .. I think the minimum these days is at least a Quad Core. I'm already planning on a 6 core for Vegas 10. Just reality. I wouldn't consider it an issue for Vegas --- I loved my old Pentium II machine -- ran so smooth -- but what could I run on it today? It's not just Vegas that needs the horsepower. - Paul

With all these new features it is a wonder that the 9.0d version is not 9.1 or even 9.5. However, not enough new features to crack 10.0, but that wouldn't have stopped some people.

More testing with my 4 hour 781-clip project and 9d definitely runs like a snail in treacle. 9c is so much more responsive.

The 9d installers are taking a long holiday in my recycle bin.

what in the world happened to the ability to read mxf files?. I can no longer read XDCAM HD 422 files.
