@alifftudm95 Still trying to wrap my head around how effortlessly that 4K Z-Cam clip drops into Vegas on the not so high-powered system I'm using right now. Not to mention the Z-Cam LUT.  All while doing a screen and audio capture of the edit session.  With your permission, the Z-Cam user's group would probably be interested in seeing this.

Although a laptop would not be my first choice for tackling a big 4k project like yours, you might want to first check into what it would take to upgrade ram to 32gb which is recommended by Magix for 4k editing... Dell's generally have cases held together by screws and are more easily upgraded than most which use glue.

I have 300GB worth of 4K footage from Z-cam Cinema Camera. Its very frustrating that VP17 always freeze whenever I tried to import the clip. I have to manually import it 1 by 1 into the timeline. Every 1 clip I have to wait the freeze hiccups from VEGAS.

I also have a Z-cam and have also had problems bringing footage into VP17. My workflow is normally as follows.

  1. Locate footage using Explorer Window.
  2. Select all
  3. Right click - select "import into project"
  4. Then wait
  5. A few minutes later everything is in my Project Window ready to use.

But with the big files from my zcam, I right-click and nothing happens or the program locks up. One time I got it to work by selecting only two or three files at a time, then right-clicking to import.

If I'm remembering right, this happened with both h.265 and ProRes files.
