VP22 vs VP23 rendering speed, VP23 ½ slower than VP22...?

@Gid with failing memory (so much to remember), I might miss this thread. But keep to the forum. I'm sure that things will work themselves out. I've found out that always being an early adopter brings its own issues. Paying to beta test. But Vegas hasn't failed me yet, and I enjoy editing in it more so than any other editor I've used and own.

@Reyfox Thanks, yep me too.

I've been down the alternate editor route before & came back to VP, in fact the other day I opened DaVinci again for the first time after a yr or two & within ½hr I'd decided I'll stick with VP22.

My latest project, the first 26 clips of 131, edited to 18mins, rendered loop region only in 8.29mins. I'll get the next selection on the timeline edited in the next days or so. (I had to upload all 131 because my GoPro wasn't recording the correct date n time, I hadn't set it right so it was out of sync with my phone 🤦‍♂️, so I had to organise them in order on the timeline, normally I'd just load the ones I need for Pt1 etc..)

I was hoping for better preview with VP23 with the crossfades but I'm fairly happy with VP22 & it's steady away 👍

@Gid I've personally have had Resolve Studio for several years now. Always update it when there are updates. But in all the years I've had it, I haven't done one project in it. I've dabbled with it, but for editing, it has been Vegas Pro.

While they are working on the new video engine, a simple cross dissolve to another clip still causes it to "stall" on my computer. That's with no effects. VP23 is a work in progress. As long as they keep working on it, I'll be happy.

@jetdv said: On File - Properties, make sure "Resample" is set to "None" unless you REALLY need the resampling.

In doing cgp tweaks, I did a bunch of hd region renders for quick previewing with vp23. Project was set to 8bit full, Best, Optical Flow. Took 45 mins to render. Later, after tweaking the day away, I did it again but this time changed to Good and Disable Resampling. Took only 30 mins.

@Reyfox Ok, thanks for that, as that's my gripe with VP22 I tried VP23 & it didn't seem any better really.

My Trial is running out & I'm not upgrading for a while so I'll keep reading the forum & hopefully over the mths there will be progress.

@Gid I find VP22 works great for me and the projects that I do. No crashing and I could be editing for hours.

I've personally have found that new releases of Vegas, or any major software, tend to have issues. I sometimes think before buying, wait wait wait for a few updates, but always pull the trigger and am off seeing what is new and what is causing me issues. It is a way to support and even help point out bugs that need to be addressed. I still have VP22-14 to fall back on if necessary!!

Also, I can monitor what is being done with update patches. Right now, getting timeline and rendering under control is an issue for me. I guess this comes with the Render Engine being "1.0".
