RE: Video Compression capability in Vegas Pro Suite 21 build315?
Here is a nice introduction to the concepts and interactions of video compression, codecs, file size, resolution, frame rate, bitrate, bit depth, and a bunch of other areas you will learn about while exploring for answers to your general questions

RE: VEGAS Pro 23 and MOCHA VEGAS
hey all, just returned to vegas for the first time since... I dont remember which Sony version. for a few years I begrudgingly eked out a few projects using the other current NLE options that aren't subscriptions (which means i used Resolve lol).

RE: Vegas Pro 21 low on memory error, when RAM usage is only 56%
Even having the recommended amount of VRAM doesn't mean that some effect isn't taking all of it and not leaving any for VEGAS to use, which is why I asked which effects you were using. I had 16GB when Neat Video caused the same error on my system,

RE: Insert Track Motion Points at Exact Time Separation
Hi @jetdv I need 2 scripts because this is for editing purposes. So as an example, I reach a point in my edit where need to zoom (and move) track motion to show a highlight on the screen, could be any random amount of zoom and movement, say for

RE: Is there a way to preview, and zoom in, video while motion tracking?
@Former user I don't think @wjaunch understood your request. what he is describing is zooming & panning around in the Preview window in VP20. Sorry it isn't real. I made it look like that with masks & an insert with a bit of tracking,

RE: Slideshow with Vegas Pro 21
Cool! Any new, modern transitions in v21 for slideshow, like Proshow gold has since many-many years for example?I cannot imagine who like 50-60% of Vegas built in transitions? Many motions are so oldschool, definetly need a refresh. Yes, GL

RE: Suggestion: Let 2.5D Parallax in Vegas easier and more user-friendly
@MikeS 3D Camera system consists of Camera and the "World". Vegas' 3D camera is its preview screen. It is called 3D camera because it is a camera in 3D space, not a 2D camera like PIP, Pan/Crop (they only work in 2D plane space). The motion of

RE: [Closed] VEGAS Pro / VEGAS Post Release History
VEGAS Pro 21 Build 208 - 12th December 2023 Known issues: Blue and Red colors may be swapped in VEGAS Effects and HitFilm when using recent AMD Adrenalin drivers. It is recommended to revert the driver to version 23.7.2 to avoid this

RE: How can I list ALL the codecs installed on my platform?
Blackmagic MJPEG codec is an older, proprietary codec. It may be installed as a hardware capture codec on your card. Vegas uses your system software codecs. And only some of them that meet strict licensure requirements. Nonpartnered Proprietary

RE: Pro 16 won't load 24-bit audio from AVI file
Black Magic's Media Express has the option for various capture formats (AVI 8 & 10-bit YUV, AVI Motion JPEG, QuickTime Uncompressed 8/10-bit YUV & RGB etc). I did a 5 second cap test with all nine options. When I open MediaInfo, no matter

RE: How do I resize and position an image?
Pan Crop is far better than track motion for resizing despite its limitations, because it treats the image at its native resolution. Track motion treats at project resolution. I do all my zoom/pans on stills with Pan Crop, never track motion.

RE: VEGAS Pro Update 3 - new feature tutorials, benchmark comparisons
Here's the final result. The first 5 frames are messed up, and there's a little bit of video to the right of her that didn't get properly masked out, I could easily clean that up by refining the smart mask or just masking those areas to her right

Try using Track Motion, I think it would be simpler.

RE: Track Motion - Crete/Copy Keyframes
@Jorge-Vegas, Ok, when dealing with Track Motion keyframes, please make sure you are dealing with a VIDEO track (not just a "track"). Then you can add a new keyframe like this: VideoTrack vTrack = (VideoTrack)myTrack; TrackMotionKeyframe newKF =

RE: Vegas from Sony to now
and yes, the quality of these tutorials is lacking, and often full of misinformation (like "record your gameplay video at 200fps! It'll make it look smoother when you render it out of VEGAS at 60fps!"), but there isn't much that can be done about

Vegas has blur Fx and bezier masking with motion tracking- check "mask Fx" in bezier masking to blur Fx after it in the plugin chain.

RE: video ghosting / framing problem with Sony FX3
Indeed, recording with 1/100 sec shutter gives natural motion blur with 50fps. For a more crispy picture after stabilizing you could use 1/200 or even 1/400 sec shutter. But as always, best try avoiding shaky camera movements, which makes in post

RE: How To Make An Image Smaller?
Yeah, that's not a good use for Pan/Crop. You really need Track Motion but, like you said, you either have to dedicate a track to it or add keyframes to the track. Much easier to just use the PIP effect.

@Roger Bansemer To avoid any confusion, I suggest you change the heading for your post to 'Motion Tracking', which is different to 'Track Motion'. Having said that, it doesn't immediately look as if you're doing anything wrong. I suggest you first

RE: Some final questions
1. Pan/Crop is the correct way to do it. Pan/Crop will work with the full resolution of the image. Track Motion works with the video frame so zooming in you'll lose resolution. So do your zooming and panning with Pan/Crop. 2. No, it doesn't matter.

RE: Can no longer find the "flash" fx - Is it me???
Just found something I quite like, Flicker Control has some presets (it doesn't 'flash'), I've used it before to give a sort of strobe effect (S_Flicker is better for strobe effects), but adding Flicker Control to a moving video adds a sort of

RE: Vegas Pro....How many crashes a day is too many? Am I done with Vegas?
I don't think it's necessarily the footage. I think it's the combination of effects, transitions, titles and animated images. I don't have super extensive EFX but I do have multiple layers of some effects and layers of titles. I just think Vegas

@Former user I often see psnr trending in an opposite direction from the other 2 metrics. But every time I look at the footage involved, I either don't see a difference or don't agree with the psnr ranking. But that's a really huge psnr difference

Sorry for my ambiguity, but I showed a copy of the OP's screenshot. Because I always strictly reserve the crop function for an Event, like the track motion for a Track and use the PIP effect as an extra, I found it strange that someone on a new
