Cannot open multiple instances of Vegas Pro 18 in Windows 11

I just upgraded to Windows 11.

One thing I used to do A LOT in Vegas Pro 18 was to open a second copy of Vegas Pro whilst a video was generating so I could do some video editing. It was a huge time-saver for me.

Since upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11 yesterday, I am unable to do this. I understand that Shift-left click works with programs that have multiple windows, such as Internet Explorer, but Vegas doesn't have this option. I am unable to find any way of allowing Windows to run the program twice.

Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

@ChrisB2021 The way I open multiple Vegas windows is to either start them from a shortcut (desktop, task bar, or start) or by right clicking on a .veg file in the windows explorer and selecting Open. No problem for me starting 10 instances of Vegas 18 under Win11:

Not sure why you cannot. Maybe the video driver preventing it? I'm running the latest Amd video driver certified to support Win11 and Resizable BAR which is enabled in my bios.

Thanks for the comments everyone.

OK... weird. I tried a few different methods - multiple shortcuts, trying to open the second one as administrator etc. It didn't work. I was able to run multiple instances of other applications like Microsoft Word (2007!) and Firefox for instance, because it allows multiple windows.

I've since rolled back to Windows 10 and everything works fine again.

I'm currently running this on a two month old ASUS laptop, so it will be interesting trying this on my desktop computer when I make it back home.
