@Ady-Ward Great work👍. The style of your work seems to be a style called "Kinetic Typography". Here are some other similar works/tutorials/templates:

Thanks. Kinetic Typography, I'm going to use this to impress others. I have been doing music vids like this for over 15 years. I'm hoping Vegas will put more into artistic letter presets/animation.

@Ady-Ward This requires Vegas Team to invest more in keyframe interpolation / Bezier keyframe curves.

Vegas' existing 6 keyframe interpolations and tangent-locked keyframe curve are far from meeting the needs of users to produce professional "Kinetic Typography". ( for example, After Effects / Premiere's "Kinetic Typography" :

If you want Vegas Team to invest more to this, you can show your support here 😁 : thread 1, thread 2.

Pushing the limits of motion graphics in VEGAS Pro!

I'm a big fan and a long-time user of VEGAS Pro. I've always had a knack for figuring out ways of pushing the motion graphics possibilities of the software.

I made this promo video as a love letter to the wonderful developers and passionate community behind the software.

This is fully made from scratch within VEGAS Pro 19. No plugins or external software has been used, as I wanted to show off its native capabilities. The only external media used are the video clips themselves, and screenshots from my desktop. All else is made using custom keyframing, media generators and masks.

I hope this may inspire some of you, and maybe even get you to have an extra look at how much you can do with just the baseline package of VEGAS Pro.

@John-Ivar Awesome works! 👍 I'm glad you're also a Motion Graphics fan. I can see that you have a lot of easing animations in that video, and I'm guessing you simulated these easing animations by setting more extra keyframes, or using Vegasaur Tweener. This is a tough task that needs perseverance!

I have been pushing Vegas Team to make progress in the keyframe interpolation. Now I am thinking about how to attract their attention to the keyframe interpolation of Mask and 3D Parent Track Motion. I hope that in the near future, when we do something similar easing animations, it will be much easier and freer.

John-Ivar wrote on 5/31/2022, 11:05 AM

@lan-mLMC Thank you! The easing is all done by hand, using extra keyframes as you suggested. It's a pain unfortunately, but it's the only way to do it "clean" without using some third party plugin or software. At least as far as I know.

I will now be referencing the video plus the this comment everytime the conversation about easing keyframes is brought up with the devs.

(Though to be fair, the devs are wonderful, well-aware why we pester them and are severely understaffed)

John-Ivar wrote on 6/1/2022, 7:14 AM

Haha, quote away, @Mohammed_Anis. Be my guest.

I've been reluctant to beat the keyframe overhaul drum too hard, as I notice the VEGAS community does that enough as it is. I too think the developers are great, and I really cheer for them in their mission to make this one of the best alternatives to the massive conglomerate that is the Adobe family of products.

But I have to say, if they modernized the whole keyframe system and made it intuitive and cohesive across all animatable sections of VEGAS Pro, I would be completely over the moon as it would save me so much time in everything I do with the software. I'm sure the same goes for many others.

Jerky, disconnected and linear motion has become a bit of a VEGAS tell in many ways. I'm certain that helping users create organic motion effectively and intuitivily would raise the overall bar of all VEGAS projects.

Hi all :)

Here is a music performance video I did which was shot using two cameras and edited on Vegas Pro with some small segments (intro and ending) done on Vegas Effects (nothing too spectacular though). Hope you enjoy it 🙂

Gear used:

Sony A6500 mirrorless camera (main cam)

Kandao Qoocam 8k (2nd cam)

Zoom H6 Audio recorder

This is also the first time I’ve created a video using a dual-gpu setup (Nvidia RTX 3060 + AMD Radeon RX 580 x). Not much of an increase in editing performance, but Qoocam’s 360 app runs better with an Nvidia card, hence the two GPUs inside my computer.

This 20 minutes video took 1hr10mins to tender 😮. Rendered in 1080p30 using one of the Magix codecs using NVENC. Project set to GPU acceleration using the Nvidia card. I’m not sure if this is normal because of the two cards. What do you guys think?

Enjoy!

@John-Ivar You can make a big leap by adding multi-layer parallax 3D camera effects to your work.

Of almost all NLEs, only Vegas has this feature. It can be a highlight of your work. (This demo is done in VEGAS Effects, but can be also done in VEGAS Pro)

John-Ivar wrote on 6/13/2022, 3:18 AM

Thanks for the friendly and helpful reply @lan-mLMC. I'm sure I'll find a good use for a full 3D "set" at some point in the future.

VEGAS is certianly unique in this regard. It's the main reason why I highlighted 3D compositing in the promo video. It's a surprisingly well-hidden feature, both in their communications efforts and the software itself.
