Vegas 16 keeps crashing

justin-mehan wrote on 10/11/2022, 1:12 AM

My Vegas 16 crashes every 30 second or less. Causes my whole system to crash when rendering. Each new project this issue gets worse and worse. Now Vegas is barely usable. I've tried all the fixes I could find online but to no avail. I'm willing to send some Bitcoin to anyone who can help me fix this. Thanks.

Maybe VP16 not keen on GOPRO H265 files. 1) try using proxy files. 2)Download 'Shutter Encoder' free and re-code your 4K 265 files to say ProRes or H264 which should be easier for vegas to handle. A little bit of trial & error. Shutter encoder is a useful tool, It can also change size 4K to FHD or HD as well as colour space. You can even apply a LUT as part of recode. Well worth the the optional $10 donation request

GOPRO 10 is newer than VP16 which may not know how to handle the files.

Bitcoin not needed but thanks for offer. Good luck

@justin-mehan

Are you able to give the exact driver numbers for your Intel and Nvidia Graphic Processors and what is your (customized?)rendertemplate?
On my vegas Pro 16 I'm not seeing those problems on projects with a lot of GOPro 4K HEVC 50p sourcefiles

j-v I think you lead me in the right direction. I had bought "advanced driver updater" and ran a scan which told me 30 items needed updates. I thought that he had updated it for me put apparently not. After you asked about me drivers I doubled checked and it never updated them. Updated and now running well. Good so far at least.
