I found a small bug :)

So if your name file don't have an extension in render window, and then open "browse", file has extension from file name. Of course it get's new extension (right one) after file is rendered (funny_name.funny_name.mp4).

@Radomir I am not experiencing that issue.

fr0sty wrote on 12/19/2019, 11:06 PM

I have the issue you can see in that picture, the text in the render as dialog being all white, with a white background, and you have to highlight it to see it.

Systems:

Desktop

AMD Ryzen 7 1800x 8 core 16 thread at stock speed

64GB 3000mhz DDR4

Geforce RTX 3090

Windows 10

Laptop:

ASUS Zenbook Pro Duo 32GB (9980HK CPU, RTX 2060 GPU, dual 4K touch screens, main one OLED HDR)

the above.... mine has some weird overlap I dont have time to care about nor document, if I click the pull down it shows what is needed. probably related to my 4k screen display set at 150%. reducing to 100% fixes other weird things I found, but I can't work like that

We've had a couple of reports of this (including fr0sty's), but have not been able to reproduce the problem locally yet. We are trying to figure out what the commonality is on the systems that are seeing the problem.

CONFIRMED HEVC BUG 👍🏻 Team is working on an update.

Whatever MP3 file I put into this version my volume is like 150% and the sounds is like sharp white noise/garble... is this a known issue? The same MP3's work fine in VP15 and any player (on the same machine). Only thing I could google was something with So4 settings, tried to set that to "false" with no change.

Update 1; found this on Reddit which seems to be the same issue in VP16 and the only "solutions" are not even solutions (they also link to someone having the issue in VP13). I really hope this bug has not been around for 4+ years? https://www.reddit.com/r/VegasPro/comments/bqkfba/vegas_pro_16_mp3_files_sound_like_earrape/

Updated 2; A solution in my case: a reinstall and then a reboot, no clue as to why it happened initially.

It is bug, that I can't assign "selectively paste event attributes " to keyboard shortcut?

Marco. wrote on 12/22/2019, 3:46 AM

No, it's not a bug.

Radomir wrote on 12/22/2019, 6:26 AM

It's a feature? ;)

but it would be useful

Marco. wrote on 12/22/2019, 6:37 AM

Yes, at least you could also use the appropriate Event button to make same thing. Actually this is as straight as a shortcut would be because even if you use a shortcut you would have to click onto the desired Event before. Now click onto that particular button instead and you're done.

Radomir wrote on 12/22/2019, 6:47 AM

With this way of thinking, I can delete all keyboard shortcuts.

Other thing is, that if I want to paste selectively effect on more than one clip, I need to click "edit" and so on. More clicks! In some cases I use this feature many times, also I set keyboard shortcut for "paste event attributes". It's great.

It's my first time trying out a version of Vegas Pro 17 - I've stuck with 15 until now as it does (did??) everything I need. Just three very quick observations based on my initial trials:
1. The multi-camera synchronise feature looks *very useful* to me. Useful enough to justify the cost — I'm not sure yet ;-(
2. In the timeline window, 'View' menu, turning off the toolbar (don't need it - waste of space) does not 'stick'. Restart Vegas & it's back. Could this setting be stored as part of the window layouts? I reported this when I first bought VP15 and it was accepted as a valid point, but still hasn't been fixed.
3. VP17 seems to misreport the frame rate of 23.97fps IVTC video as 25fps PAL. I'm currently working on a project which includes (legally & legitimately) some clips from a feature film, and this problem doesn't occur in VP15.

More if I find anything....thanks!

set wrote on 12/26/2019, 4:54 AM

@DoctorOfMusic: as for 23.97 IVTC video, do you have any short sample of that media that can be shared ? upload to google drive / dropbox / etc and share link here so other users / moderators can try it (or via direct message to me so I can test it and forward it to developers)

Update all worked fine. The SCREEN CAPTURE has changed from not working at all to activating the computer camera and showing me my face + audio. Still not able to make a screen recording though. Look foward to the next update... R

Look in Options>Preferences>'General' tab : 'Favor audio sync when playing VFR media':

Turn it off, restart VP17, reimport media. You should have 23.975 media now.

Did you run VP17 in your laptop that has multiple video cards?

If you do, you need to define by right click on it.

BUG REPORT

There is a small bug regarding the Video Event FX panel introduced in build Build 387. When it is in floating mode, it´s position is not stored properly. After closing Vegas Pro and starting it again, the panel appears always in it´s default position and size.

before closing the software:

after a restart:

Good tip, as I had one supplier's 23.976fps MP4 clips that occasionally defaulted incorrectly to 25.00fps. Correctable, but this setting change nips it from ever being an issue now.

If you do, you need to define by right click on it.

How do you get that menu with all those options? I tried right clicking on the Vegas icon on the desktop and elsewhere but I don't get that menu, just some of the options, not the "Run with Graphics processor..." And still Screen capture doesn't work here.

j-v wrote on 12/30/2019, 5:41 AM

How do you get that menu with all those options?

It is an option of Nvidia on laptop when there are more GPU's working and is popping up in the Windows righclickmenu on a startpic.
It is also available in the Nvidia configurationscreen

After I download the update it gives me two choices, update immediately or after I close. So I close the program, and then it says it cannot update while Vegas is open. Its not open. Then I open Vegas Pro 17 again, it wants me to download the update all over again, I do, then it does the same thing "cannot update while Vegas Pro 17 is running" lol, anybody experience this?
