Glad to hear it. Please let support know so we can get the French fixed as well.

Reyfox wrote on 2/12/2024, 5:31 AM

@Gael-V, you are not the first French installation user that has had issues starting Vegas. Others installing the English version solved that issue. But I can understand you want the French version to work. As posted above, let support know about this issue.

@RogerS and @Reyfox : for me it is the same having in French or English. An old habit from ancient windows to have both soft + os in same language to avoid library/dll mixing. I guess nowadays it's better and less problematic to have OS and soft in different languages (I hope...). Otherwise, yes, indeed, I sent a feedback to Magix's support team.

thanks again for the head ups !

A new update is in progress. We had hoped to release it much earlier than this, but the video engine work is taking longer to stabilize than we had planned. The update is coming and it should be a very good one.

There's a lot in there to get excited about. Not much longer...

Цікаво, коли вийде оновлення? Дякую. (I wonder when the update will come out? Thank you.)

@Tolyasha-Krug

It will be a few more weeks. I expect we will have the release ready in the first half of April, but with software there are no guarantees.

Considering everything else going on around the company, probably would be not good to release on that day. That said, we typically like to release new software on a Monday, which is when April Fools' Day is this year. Our goal is to have this out before NAB.

I can let everyone know that the next update has been moved into release testing now. A few more weeks hopefully.

Nothing to worry about, the restructuring is nearly complete, VEGAS is doing fantastic, new versions are still in the works, the team is full speed ahead... Just some things that needed to happen a long time ago with Magix streamlining their product offerings and making things far less confusing for the consumer are taking place. VEGAS is also now THE core product that Magix offers, it is getting the most support of them all. You'll like what some of those changes mean for you end users.

I will not go into details on what is going on with MAGIX in general, but, to confirm what fr0sty is saying, the VEGAS team is indeed working without hinderance right now and I believe the upcoming update should put to rest any fears about the future of VEGAS. It is possibly a bigger step in development than users saw moving from VP 20 to the initial release of VP 21. It is easily the biggest mid-release cycle update that we have ever released.

And development has already begun on VEGAS Pro 22 as well.

Reyfox wrote on 3/15/2024, 12:38 PM

Can't wait! Good to know that there will be a VP22 also!

If that's the case, I'm relieved, but honestly, I don't understand. How can I get support when Magix has filed for bankruptcy? I hope nothing happens to the Vegas pros. I really like the Vegas pros.

fr0sty wrote on 3/15/2024, 11:34 PM

They didn't file for bankruptcy, the company is restructuring and speaking to new investors. The restructuring process is almost complete. They are going to continue to offer all of their products with new updates and versions still being worked on as we speak, VEGAS included. There's nothing to worry about.

Don't know how you talk about new releases without considering if the company will even be around to release it.

RogerS wrote on 3/16/2024, 11:43 AM

Apologies for continuing the off-topic discussion but it's important to note the company isn't going anywhere and the developers spoke about the next update to VP 21 coming out in April and VP 22 later in the year. Restructuring is not the same as shutting down operations.

fr0sty wrote on 3/16/2024, 2:53 PM

It's also important to note that these sort of restructurings are happening across the software industry right now, just look at the gaming industry. Sony just laid off 900 people, Microsoft laid off 1900 people from its gaming division, there isn't a gaming studio out there that is not being affected with layoffs right now. IBM is also having to do a round of layoffs.

None of these companies, Magix included, are in danger of shutting down.
