Check your settings, they may have been reset to a less than optimal setup during the install. Especially the settings in file i/o, like "decoder to user" and "enable legacy AVC/HEVC". Try turning off the legacy stuff.

fr0sty - thanks for the quick response.

Solved - My graphics card option was missing after the update... We're good now! Thanks for the insight.

Now rendering faster than '208' 37 versus 46 FPS.

I just installed the new update and so far so good. Only issue I'm experiencing is full screen preview. When I open a session and playback full screen, everything is fine. However, as soon as I make any adjustments to the timeline (add, cut, or add fx, etc.) when I playback full screen, the preview is just a white screen. Preview screen in edit window still plays fine, but full screen remains white until I restart session. Anyone experiencing this as well?

Overall, everything else is running smooth.

Stephen-Pohl wrote on 4/8/2024, 5:45 PM

Should have waited for build 301. Inexcusable release. Can't open MOV files. I don't believe for one second that the QA guys hadn't seen this. If there is a configuration or workaround it should have been put in "new features".

Further investigation. It will load a mov file if GPU is being used. Will NOT load if GPU option is off. Strange.

Just updated mine and almost 100 percent smooth: the first pop window downloaded the files and was stuck "waiting on closing the app" or something like that. I forced closed the VP21 app and restart with the same popup update and downloaded the file once more. The app installed then required one more update. I am good to go! thank you for evolving your updating methods. Been with Vegas for a while

RogerS wrote on 4/8/2024, 7:13 PM

Right click on the preview window, make sure "adjust preview size and quality for optimal playback" isn't checked, and make sure your preview quality is set to preview (full) or better.

I'm sure there's an option to address the MXF issue, but I don't shoot on that format, so I'm not sure where it is.

I do not believe there is an option anymore to limit the MXF channels if the new mxcompound decoder is used.

@Stephen-Pohl Can you share exactly what kind of mov files aren't opening? I tried a few here without problems. Please paste in MediaInfo (and a bit of sample video to download would be even better!)

How do I roll back to the last build. This current version is a train wreck on my pc. It takes 5 times as long waiting for it to load a project, that before the update, took 5 seconds. Also, thumbnails on the timeline don't load and are blank. Playing a clip in the timeline results in random frames from the same clip jumping all over the place. Like the very first frame will be pulled from the middle of the clip, then it will play properly for a few frames, then it will play a random frame it already played. Its gone berserk, and I need to roll back. Please Help!! Thanks in advance!

@jamie-oxenham Of course, you cana download all versions here: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-where-can-i-download-vegas-pro-and-other-vegas-software--104782/

You can also check "enable legacy AVC" in preferences file io which is what build 208 used.

What media are you specifically having issues with? Would be great if we can replicate it as we just did with Canon files.

@David-Marcou As this isn't an issue with all MXF files (have a bunch I've personally tested) can you make it clear with what kind of file you are working with and what GPU you are using? A screenshot of preferences/ file io would be great, too. The more we can replicate the faster it will get fixed.

Here is how to post MediaInfo. If you add your system details to your forum signature we wouldn't have to ask for it.

With Canon C70 MXF footage and my NVIDIA GTX 1050 and 2080 I see it lose audio sync but haven't seen pixelation in the window. I do see all 4 channels load regardless of what is checked in preferences, file io.

Wow... such harsh criticism from people who've only posted a few times, along with having a blank user profile. Then making blanket statements as facts. Also falling back to a release that is two releases ago. Makes me wonder....

But as anyways... I edit MOV all the time. 10bit 4:2:2 Apple Quicktime files. Can't get any more MOV than that. So you are wrong there. Here is the MediaInfo, something you should have supplied but didn't. Also, I turned OFF GPU and the project still loads and plays back just fine on my computer, who's specs are in my Signature below. See? I provided actual information. your turn.

So unless you have more information to share, like what created the file, MediaInfo of the file, or even better yet, supply a sample of the problematic file(s), along with adding to your User Profile/Signature your computer specs, how would you expect someone to be able to help you.

Start a new post and include information from "B" and "C" from this POST in order to begin helping you. You can also see that yes, Build 300 does work with MOV files.... my MediaInfo and screen shots of GPU turned off. Now to turn it back on and continue editing MOV files without any problems.

As we say in the States, "the ball is now in your court..."

Having major issues with audio since updating this morning. I have checked this on a couple of projects and the audio for speaking clips (possibly mono) are very slow! Any ideas? I see there are quite a few other errors too. The last version for me that worked was 108. Can we re-install that and if so, could you let me have a link to the download please. I have work to do. Thanks : )

@Freefly I saw the same thing with mono audio. On page 1 of this thread I posted that if you convert it to wav it works or if you check "enable legacy AVC" under preferences file io it works. Otherwise you can get all old versions from the download page here.
