Alors, toujours pas de mise à jour pour installer Vegas Pro 22 en français???!

Widetrack wrote on 12/16/2024, 5:29 PM

I hope this is appropriate here. I just downloaded the trial upgrade of Vegas pro, and am not sure where I've got myself. The first confusion is that the sign-up pages started saying I was getting the Suite and not just Vegas. As far as I can tell, only Vegas downloaded and got installed. How do I know what they're going to charge me for the Suite if I buy it? Also, the ads I've been getting have all quoted "$119.00" for the upgrade, but the page that appeared after I installed listed $169, and up. Last, is there a way to tell Magix I do not want to buy the upgrade? There was no info about what to do after installing. My first few minutes with V22 after install felt very stable and usable, especially after the dementia my Vegas 17 was exhibiting, and I may want to spring for 22. But the process was so uninformative and poorly explained, I may want to go use the Ableton Lite that came with my new interface. Any insights are appreciated.

@Widetrack with the trial version, you won't get all the extra software that is bundled with it. Just Vegas Pro. I'm not even sure that you get Mocha Vegas with the trial of Vegas Pro Suite. There is Vegas Pro (the current upgrade is $119) and Vegas Pro Suite, whose current upgrade price is $169. Both are for perpetual license.

Now, if you don't need all the other software that comes with the "Suite", which also includes Mocha Vegas, then Vegas Pro is the same editing program sans that additional addon software.

The "upgrade" is the price you pay for the full version (you can have VP17 and 22 on your computer at the same time). It is the "full" version at a reduced price.

One thing I've noticed is that you have listed in your User Profile, your computer has 8GB of RAM. I think you might need something like 16GB.

@Widetrack Once you pay for the program you'll get an installer with all the programs you are entitled to. You can also download them a la carte from here (I'd bookmark this page).

Widetrack wrote on 12/16/2024, 6:04 PM

Thank you, Roger. Do they notify me somehow how, and how much, to pay?

RogerS wrote on 12/16/2024, 6:11 PM

Well you'd see the price in your cart when you pay for it. If it's confusing, contact Magix sales.

Widetrack wrote on 12/16/2024, 6:19 PM

Is there a phone number for Sales? I tried the support tab on the website and there's only email help there.

Try the email.

recently upgraded to VP22. just started a new project and received a drive of AVI files for this, so just encountered an error msg. however the files play just fine in windows Media Player, and in VLC, so it's Vegas that's not fine. i just checked with some friends and AVI work well in their programs. how can Vegas call itself "Pro" with such a basic flaw? i have no interest in transcoding some 200 files. is there an add-on codec or other fix ?

RogerS wrote on 12/17/2024, 12:21 AM

@K_T There's no basic flaw with AVI files, they play back well and this container has been supported for decades. Depending on what is in the AVI you may need to install a codec to use it.

So what is the AVI file? Please share MediaInfo for it: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-how-to-post-mediainfo-and-vegas-pro-file-properties--104561/

Also what did the error say?

Double click on media file loads into Trimmer instead of tracks: this is broken in Vegas Pro 22 Build 194. I just upgraded from 21 to 22 hoping that the resizing of FX windows was fixed for audio plugins, but it's still not (it was fixed in an early version of 21, but broken again). So now, with 22, double clicking, say, an audio file (.wav) loads it onto a track and not into the trimmer windows--this is true whether the checkbox is clicked or not. Also true for video files. I suspect it has something to do with a new thing when you hover over a media file (see attachment) bringing up a "+", a play thing and 2 other things that are new. If I have to hover over a file, move my mouse to the appropriate 'thing', in this case the third thing which is 'trim', then this just slows down my work. I dbl click on media files all day long in order to see/edit them in the trimmer window. Please fix this!

thx.

Update: from the Project Media window, this works properly. But from the Explorer window, double clicking still puts the file on a track, not the Trimmer window, as it should..no matter how that box is checked. Please fix. Thx.

SYNC Issue: I successfully edited a 1.5 hour, two camera shoot filmed with professional Sony camcorders. The latest build of Vegas Pro 21 was used. I edited using the multi-camera function in Vegas and rendered to HEVC/AAC MP4 - Internet HD1080P 59.94, the same settings that were used in the cameras to record with.

QUESTION: Why would it be that the exact same video files edited in the same way using the latest build of Vegas Pro 22 consistently wind up with the audio noticeably out of sync? It's been forcing me to edit my two camera shoots in Vegas Pro 21.

Many thanks in advance for your insight and comments.

Marc

Opening Help and then to Driver Updates recently caused a crash, both in VP 22 and in VP 21. Probably after a Windows update. Or does anyone have an answer or solution for this?

RogerS wrote on 12/18/2024, 12:13 AM

@GerY Known issue, at the moment the top thread under "video" is about this. Probably a Magix server issue vs Windows but we don't know anything more at this time.

Thanks for the suggestion. When i have a moment i'll look into it. However i did try out the files on another computer with Movie Studio 15 and Adobe Premiere. MSP15 can't open the AVI, just like Vegas Pro 20 and 22. Yet Premiere - no problem. VLC and Windows Media Player, no problem.

So, there shouldn't be a need to dig into MediaInfo etc, waste time, when all the competition can open the files don't you think? Looking through various threads, it seems users have been struggling with this issue for many years. You'd think by now the Vegas "Pro" folks would have figured it out.

RogerS wrote on 12/18/2024, 3:32 AM

A lot of rhetoric but no, no single editor supports every variety of file out there. Maybe your AVI file type is one VEGAS already supports through a plugin. Or maybe it should. However neither of us know what kind of AVI it is so we're stuck. Feel free to upload one as an alternative to MediaInfo (which may be embedded in VLC? It's part of MPC).

No it's not a waste of time. We need to see if there's possibly something unusual about your files which Vegas doesn't like.

I've never had any problems with my DV-AVI files and Vegas. I'm also not aware "users have been struggling with this issue for many years". Can you point to a thread illustrating this. I've just searched the forum and have only come across your recent post.

Issues when trying to open two instances of Vegas 22 to move clips from one template to another template. I am running into regular crashes of the 2nd instance of Vegas 22, it varies when it happens but seems to depend on the size of the 2nd template and how many clips are in there.

Reyfox wrote on 12/18/2024, 12:06 PM

@David-Koci your user profile is blank. Whenever someone posts an issue that could be hardware related, info on what their specific computer specs are needed. Add your computer specs to your User Profile>Signature.

I've copied anything from entire projects to clips from 2 instances of VP22 running without any problem.

You also mentioned that it depends on size, again, specifically, how large/many clips?

I just completed my first project since upgrading from Vegas Pro 20 to v22, and I am very happy with how smoothly the editing process went! Ever since v18 I had been experiencing intermittent but persistent program crashes. The time between crashes would range widely - from 5 minutes to 30 minutes - but I always knew a crash was coming eventually. So, "Advanced Save" became my best friend, with the backup interval set to 1 minute. Now, after spending 8 hours working with v22 I am happy to report there were no crashes! The program worked smoothly in all respects, and I am now a very happy Vegas Pro customer.
