Just installed v23 and configuring. Found that there is no longer the display option "Display Timeline @ Bottom of Main Window. Is there a way to make this happen without the display selection?

@Komaryt it is always good to report bugs. But without reproduction steps, there is not much developers can do. You have to provide them so that they can reproduce and then produce a bug fix. But if it is working for everyone else, then you have to look at your computer system. Is it a "global" issue, or individual. That is the question. And if it is working on my computer and others, again, then the problem is a "local" one.

@m3lquixd I tried to adjust Opacity, and really can see how that can be done. I could barely see the adjustment on a 4K monitor. Does it work in VP23? Not on my computer. But it only had one adjustment in VP22 on my computer. When it is at 100%, moving the handle brought it only to 0% and I was not able to get it back to 100% without making the track larger. And this is with all the buttons on the track header off.

Hello everyone,

The VEGAS Team is happy to announce the release of VEGAS Pro 23 build 278. Please use this thread to post general comments on this new version. For details on VEGAS Pro 23, please read this post in the News forum.

If you are having any issues using the update or have specific questions, please create a new thread.

Thank you,

The Vegas Pro Team

I feel sorry, that I have mid range phone, which as a hobby I shoot videos sometime, the 22 was culprit not able corrupted lip-sync playback of those shoot, And I thought the VP 23 new engine would resolve that. I do not see the benefit of this new engine. However, also that the premier pro and the CapCut, doesn't has these issues at all.

RogerS wrote on 9/13/2025, 2:20 AM

@RobinVeg87 Can you provide a sample of media from your phone that loses sync? Issues with a number of phones were fixed in 23.

in v23's CGP, it can not wokring normaly in "specify a black & white point" on Color Wheels.

also it can not working something LUT as like Kodak Killer_4.AF2I9147.cube in v23's CGP.

Hi @onlyway
I have already reported the "Specify a Black/White Point" bug in the Colour Grading Panel. It has been officially logged. I discovered this myself and it has been confirmed by other users. Hopefully this will be fixed in the first major build update. Unfortunately, I can't comment on the 2nd problem about Kodak LUT.

Hello... I think there is a problem with this new Vegas 23, and it happens when using a QuickTime Apple ProRes 4444 video clip that contains the alpha channel.

I use QuickTime Apple ProRes 4444 because it allows me to render in alpha channel from After Effects and transfer this clip directly to Vegas, and it arrives with transparency.

Now, when I place this clip, which works fine in Vegas 22, 21, 20... Here, it saturates the colors of the video clip.

If I render a video from After Effects in Apple ProRes 4444 but turn off the alpha channel, then it works fine in Vegas 23 and does not saturate the video.

If anyone knows what this could be or if it is a problem with the new Vegas, I would be grateful if you could post the solution here, as this is the only problem I have seen with this new Vegas 23.

I am leaving an image of Vegas 22 where the clip looks fine and in Vegas 23 where it looks bad. The parameters in the properties of both Vegas are set the same.

The first two images are from Vegas 22, the next two are from Vegas 23, and the last two are the properties of Vegas 22 and Vegas 23, with the same parameters.

Just a random congrats on the new release. Long live Vegas!

RogerS wrote on 9/13/2025, 10:48 AM

@FranciscoAdolfo-Rivas Problems with ProRes are known and the developers have stated they're working on a fix. In the meantime I'd suggest staying with an older version or converting ProRes to a different format.

The full screen flickering isse apparently still has not been solved in VP 23 (link to the issue is here).

And - unfortunately - the Open CL setting hack that solved the issue in previous versions is not accessible anymore.

@FranciscoAdolfo-Rivas A couple of others (including myself) have already made posts about this. I've also discovered that if you render prores 4444 in VP23 and put that clip into VP22, it'll be the opposite and washed out. On the second page of my post I left a video demonstrating. I believe they're trying to patch this in the next update. It's not on your end and seems to be a bug all round as multiple people reproduced the issue with footage I submitted.

I have 2 problemas with vegas 23. The vegas capture feature is not working. When I select the sources to record, it says not available. And the dialog box to import files from a camera doesn´t pop up. In vegas 22 works well. So I i am not be able to import a recording from a concert in the mts format. Am I doing something wrong or are they early bugs?

I have never had this issue with any other version of VEGAS or Movie Studio, but since updating to VEGAS 23 (Build 278), my preview is permanently flipped vertically, and the picture is dark.

For the darkness issue that is solved by simply moving the window to my SDR monitor, rather than my main HDR monitor, I'd still like to know how to fix the issue on my HDR monitor, since that's the one I want to use VEGAS.

The upside-down issue, on the other hand, I have absolutely no clue what's causing that or have even seen anything of this issue either on this community page or generally online, especially as said, the video is only flipped vertically, not horizontally too, so basically it's not properly upside down / rotated 180 degrees.

@McRyanGold is that with all footage? Your User Profile is blank. What is your PC hardware? See mine listed in my Signature below.

@Chris021 never have read of your issue before. More details are needed, and I am sure the video would help a lot.

Edit: Preview is actually too bright on my SDR monitor as well, so basically, either it's too dark or too bright, depending on which screen I have it on.

Also, a temporary solution for the flip problem has been found by turning off and on "Enable Preview Scaling," though it does go back once VEGAS is started back up again

I have come full circle here, having bought a DVD of Vegas 6 at a yard sale.. Moved up to 11,then 15 and quite quickly to 17, and now 23. I've been using DaVinci Resolve 20 for a while now, andd was happy with it. I took on some drone video to edit, and that's when the trouble started. The first lot went well. Imported second, and did all the edits. But it wouldn't render.... I remembered Vegas, and installed 23. Problem solved. Vegas eats these files effortlessly. Yeah, I'm happy ! thanx Magix !!

I normally record very long videos of live performances, and my camera records in avchd. This means it is generating several files each 4gb. I usually have a lot of problems with audio sync with longer videos, and it was a pain to import them in other programs such as Adobe Premiere. I had to resync video and audio manually.... but with the Vegas 22, when i chooose the folder where the camera records the video, automatically recognizes the video and when I import to pc automatically merges all videos in only one. For me its fantastic. That was the main reason I abandoned Adobe for Vegas. And this I can only do with the import box inside vegas. With other files such mp4 from my canon camera, I d0nt have any issues.

Thanks!

digilyd wrote on 9/14/2025, 8:20 PM

I have a couple of issues:

First of all the install process, why do I have to keep selecting language for each step? - sorry, but it is plain silly. It is a bit lengthy and it could easily just save language choice as a variable and look it up for every step. It is not reasonable to assume that anybody would want to alter their language choice. And it is a pesky nuisance to detect that it is again for a language choice to proceed.

Why break the white look?

And then the bad one, really bad one: The way render functionality windows opens has been changed so that we can not minize Vegas when rendering? Usually minimizing it while also asking it not to show images along the way takes GPU- use from 50 percent to 90 percent on this box.

Someone just didn't think. This matters with long renders.

digilyd wrote on 9/14/2025, 8:59 PM

What is going on, opening a prerendered file for versioning and then the display image looks VERY wrong, but the thumbnail in the file - and the video file when wieved in VLC - looks right.

digilyd wrote on 9/14/2025, 9:50 PM

For some reason I can not edit and add this, look at the image, it shows the difference in gpu use between having Vegas main window open and closed, with main window closed the box runs its gpu (4060) well neigh flat out even when set to powersaving and thus no fan noise.

@digilyd That's an easy one. The way to minimize a Windows app with an open Modal Window is to click on the far right side of the Windows Task Bar where there is a vertical white line which is actually a Show Desktop button.
