green envelopes (video velocity) are really unestable and somehow unusuable, i use them a lot and it's really disrupting my workflow, please fix them 😓

@Luigiplier I extensively use audio envelopes myself and also find editing them totally unusable in vp23... since I do audio before video, I've been doing it all with vp22 before passing the mix to vp23 to continue with video editing. That's not a totally satisfactory workaround for me because vp22 isn't as smooth playing audio as vp23. I might try an earlier version for audio on my next project if this doesn't get fixed soon.

For anyone who wants to know, I use RME and Mytek hardware on my desktop and Focusrite on my laptop and most of my audio is 24bit wav except for camera audio which I don't use for anything important, mostly just applause, because it's all aac. Envelope editing doesn't have much to do with audio media... it's a graphical ui issue which has always worked as smooth as silk until vp23 broke it. Also makes no difference whether I use Amd, Nvidia, or Intel graphics.

When Minimizing a track in the time line the "active Take Information" is no longer displayed in Version 23 as it was in Version 22. Did Vegas decide we did not need that anymore or is there a fix?

Since I upgraded to Build 302, the application crashes as soon as I finishes loading. Just after the welcome screen displays. This was occuring on the beta version and as well on the newly released version.

@DCrowe Did you press anything after launching? I mean, does Vegas crash when not touching anything when it starts?
Clicking too soon in the application after a fresh start can cause a crash (when it is still initializing stuff under the hood).
Another possible reason is language and/or country /region dependencies, poor internet or intrusive anti-virus, slow hardware, to many plugins, especially third party audio plugins.

It crashes without touching anything. I've since found what was happening. The applicatioon started with the Explorer tab selected and in the folder that was showing was a video file that it didn't like. I removed all of the files from that folder and then started the application and it didn't crash. However, it still doesn't like the video file even though that video file worked fine in Vegas Pro 22.

RogerS wrote on 10/15/2025, 8:08 AM

@DCrowe Could you privately make that file available for testing? It really shouldn't crash VEGAS!

Test wrote on 10/15/2025, 8:10 AM

In the render menu Apple ProRes and AV1 menu customize video tab is empty.

Selection length cannot be selected by typing in the same way as it worked with Vegas pro 22

I'm not sure how to do that. Do you mean something like Dropbox?

Yes, exactly. Google Drive, Dropbox, etc. If you prefer to share it privately you can message me, otherwise post it here please.

Copying color grading settings from one clip to another does not save values and will soft lock the user out from doing any color grade changes unless they reset to default values.

Reyfox wrote on 10/16/2025, 8:33 AM

@jacknsb I was able to copy/paste color grading to another clip without any issues. And if I wanted to edit the pasted event in the color grading panel, I could without issue.

Please see the attached video. Sometimes it works as expected but in my experience since getting on VP23 I've had about a 90% failure rate in copying color grading settings, properly pasting their values, and having the ability to edit those values again without resetting all color grade settings.

Reyfox wrote on 10/16/2025, 10:20 AM

@jacknsb thanks for the video. I am not seeing that on my computer.

Here, I also used the Camera LUT (DJI D-Log to REC 709), and just moved sliders all over the place.

The top image is the "graded" clip on the timeline. The bottom image is the copy event attributes. It shows the same. I didn't include the Camera LUT because it too was the same. I adjusted the Strength of it. It didn't matter if I used the Sliders or the Color Wheels.
