@EruDebu What do you mean by "Random timeline jumping" and "Velocity envelopes inconsistencies?"

Reyfox wrote on 10/27/2025, 7:51 AM

@iEmby I've been able to open all my VP22 and earlier (to VP18) without issue in VP23 B302. But once I open them, I save them in VP23. I still have the "originals" saved in the past Vegas builds.

Looking at the Fault Module, "AppleProRes.dll" is the issue in the mxcompound.dll.

It must be a bug. Is this a hint as to what the problem is? APPLEPRORES.dll
What kind of ProRes footage are you using?

i am using 2 3 transparent mov files which are rendered in vegas 22 in apple prores template alpha for an motion graphics video.

So, when using the "new" Filter Packages, i just realized, when a clip is shorter or longer than the clip that you originally used to create these filter packages, the keyframe placement will be changed. This is horrible.

For example i use a Filter Package to animate subtitles, first keyframe is zoomed out a bit, second one makes the text jump in, and the third keyframe resets everything (Picture-in-Picture effect) - now with filter packages in veg23 it makes the text move slow if the text is a bit longer, or dont even make it move if the text is shown for a short time, because the keyframes are put into one small spot. Just try it out yourself, what is this

btw: When using the old saved filter packages from vegas 21 for example, it's working and the keyframes always get put to the correct spot

We will look to fix the auto-detect of the transparency fields in ProRes as quickly as possible.

Thanks for the work on the fix for Prores Alpha. But I also have this issue on V302 that rendering a Prores 444 / Prores 444 XQ render in half the luminance. in Prores LT, it renders correctly. Is this on your radar? It works just fine in Veg22.

@EruDebu What do you mean by "Random timeline jumping" and "Velocity envelopes inconsistencies?"

literally that, when i'm editing using the green video velocity envelopes the preview jumps to random places of the timeline, like near the beginning, and i noticed it happens at the same time i try to modify the velocity envelope nodes, i can't change them and when i start the preview it goes to a random time

All Prores 444 renders are dark. So when you render a generated media (for example) with levels up to 100%, in the renders this appears as 50% output. This won't happen with other Prores flavours.

I hope i can post a example here later today.

Here is the issue that I experience with Prores in VP23 b302. Besides that the interpretation of Alpha channels is incorrect, I get different results with different Prores flavours. All 422 versions seem to render correctly. But all 444 versions of Prores render with a 50% luminance. So they appear dark.

Playing this same file in VLC show the same results.

Prores 444 in RGBA is verry important for my workflow and this works correct in VP22. So I hope that the team finds a solutions for this.

I have Version 10 Vegas Pro When elected to buy the Upgrade, it didn't recognize my serial number. What is the lowest version that can be used for the Upgrade?

Thanks.

Howard-Vigorita wrote on 11/1/2025, 11:39 AM

@Richard-Schwartz I think that in order to qualify for the upgrade, that the old serial number has to be listed in the Magix account associated with the email address you're trying to upgrade with. My guess is it's probably not there but you should log in and find out. If your email address has changed, Magix sales support can update it... had to do that once myself. And/Or put the upgrade pricing through for you, but they may request some sort of evidence. I know my Magix account only lists Vegas versions going back to 14 even though I've owned back to Vegas 2... I was able to upgrade from v12 to 14 when Magix 1st acquired Vegas, probably only because my Sony account was still online back then.

I’m using Vegas 20, and when my 30-minute videos are finished (around 200 cuts, transitions, text, color correction, active tracking), it crashes every 10 minutes. Vegas 22 was better in that regard. Unfortunately, I can’t find any information on whether, if I buy an upgrade to version 23, I’ll still be able to use version 22. Unfortunately, version 23 build 302 has a color rendering issue when I adjust the highlights, so I’d like to use version 22 until version 23 is bug-free.

Hello everyone,

I have encountered a new bug in the Render Dialogue for Apple ProRes.

The Issue is When I go to Render As and select the Apple ProRes option, I cannot access the video settings. The entire Video Settings UI section is completely blank/missing. This prevents me from customizing any ProRes export parameters.

VEGAS Pro Version: 23 (Build 302)

Note: This was working fine when VEGAS Pro 23 was first released; Has anyone else on 302 build experienced the video settings being completely missing for the Apple ProRes.?

Can anyone help me? I buy Vegas 23, and the program is running very slowly and lagging. This usually happens when adding a file to the timeline or when minimizing the program to the desktop, when I change window view.

The program freezes and stops responding, often it goes on for several minutes.

I've completed a 20-minute project, and as the project grows, the program lags more and more. I'd to finish project in Vegas 22, but there's no backward compatibility!!!!!!!

All program settings are default.

I have this problem on my laptop and desktop

@Szczepan-Wtorek  ... in Options/Preferences, uncheck "Close media files when not the active application". When activated, this has long caused a delay when flipping back to Vegas Pro - the longer the project on the timeline, the longer the delay.

I'd to finish project in Vegas 22, but there's no backward compatibility

There are two ways to do this:

1. Export from VP23 using "File/Export/EDL ..." and then import into VP22 using "File/Import/EDL ...". Only the media will export/import but no FX.

2. Highlight the entire VP23 timeline (Ctrl-A) and copy (Ctrl-C) and then paste (Ctrl-V) into VP22; however, may not work if video FX on VP23's timeline. Also, any track level FX will need to be recoded.

Great, that helped. Thanks a lot. The program runs much faster now, with no lag.

By the way, I have one more question about the working of Color Wheels - LIFT and automatic correction

Has something changed? Or is there a bug?

When I select a marker automatic correction and point it at a black point in the image, the image becomes too brighter.

VEGAS 23

In vegas 22 automatic correction worked fine

@Szczepan-Wtorek I’m experiencing the same issue.
The auto adjustment based on selecting a black point with Lift and a white point with Gain doesn’t work properly.
It doesn’t actually trigger when I click the button — the correction only applies after I move the mouse cursor following the click.
And when it does, the result is completely off.

What is your GPU? Is it by any chance a RTX 50xx series?
If you enable legacy AVC decoding in the preference tab "file IO", then restart Vegas, does your issue goes away?

Hi. Excellent update (302) for quick editing and work, the transparency problem was fixed, but after rendering (I used a preset from 22 Vegas), when adding a file to a new project, it is impossible to work, the file does not play, the strobe plays at any place in the timeline at the first frame. When importing the same file into 22 Vegas, there is a freeze, the file is cached for a very long time, like 4K. Render settings: 1080p, 25 fps, 320 kbps audio, 14 Mbps bitrate, NV ENCODER, LOW LATENCY - HIGH QUALITY, RC-MODE - CBR - HIGH QUALITY
