RE: Graphics card suggestion?
I've found the Intel Arc a380 is the best so far for qsv. Btw, if you install Voukoder v11.1, whether you have an Arc or not, you'll get qvs options in Voukoder if you select Vegas to use Intel (power saving). On the laptop I just installed, it

RE: Suggestions For Ways VEGAS Can Improve
Performance. Yes it's already been mentioned, but it's still important. Compared to other products VP's playback performance can be quite poor. Evidently it's not awful - it's good enough that when combined with its overall workflow and

RE: VEGAS is it working on MAC ?
I think the biggest advantage the m1's have is that they are so efficient, that active cooling is largely unnecessary. But their x86/x64 emulation is so spotty that most efforts to run apps and drivers directly under Windows arm64 are not faring

RE: FrameServer 4.21 released, supporting ffmpeg/Resolve/more..
@GJeffrey With converttoYUV420(matrix="709:l") I got... psnr: 30.6171; ssim: 9474; vmaf: 40.1038, not a tremendous difference but lower across the board. Did you say that's for 8-bit? Source clip is 10-bit video-range and my Vegas project is set to

RE: Voukoder Vegas Pro coming out
He may also be supporting AV1 hardware encoding very soon. It seems like he may have an NDA with Intel, as he knew about the AV1 encoder before the Arc Launch but wasn't able to talk about it

RE: Voukoder Vegas Pro coming out
Just tried v11 of Voukoder and it works fine for me. And did not install ccleaner. I see it embeds a more recent version of ffmpeg than before and has a preset to select Intel's open-source svt-av1 library. But it's missing the other 2 libs built

RE: Pros have to BUY an H.264--or other codecs--license/s to use them?
@DrinkyBird would you happen to know anything specific about why GPU makers are so reluctant to add 422 10bit HEVC decode, and 422/420 10bit AVC decode? Intel has shown it can be done for 422 10bit HEVC I've no idea to be honest, but I very much

RE: Not Responding
@RogerS I used to think it was just "a preview buffer", that I could render a section into RAM and then get a smooth preview of the final render from the RAM, that’s why I like it. But now I’m well confused. If it’s just a preview buffer and nothing

Many thanks for this. i have been testing various options with some detailed clips with lots of fine grass, trees, water, buildings and movement to find the best (to my eye and on my 4K Oled LG 65in). Media 4K Sony XAVCS 100Mbps bit rate. 264 vbr

RE: Voukoder Vegas Pro coming out
@pierre-k As far as I know AVC = h264. Voukoder provides several h264 encoders. @Howard-Vigorita If you ever used a hardware AV1 encoder and see the fps numbers you really don't care about software AV1 encoders anymore. It is absolutely insane! I

@GJeffrey Thanks, I haven't had a chance to try qsvenc yet but it looks promising. Been testing with the gyan ffmpeg6 build all day and it handles avs fine. But the avisynth+ quality analysis isn't that great. For instance, testing transcodes of a

RE: Final output Codec
@andyrpsmith Playability isn't everything; it is the only thing. First, and most important, especially if you will be sharing your masterpieces with others, is the delivery medium. AVC and HEVC are close to 100% deliverable, AV1 and VP9 less

RE: Anyone else try the Fanxiang NVMe SSDs?
I would not trust an unknown brand like this (as these OEMs often rebrand lower quality chips from other manufacturers - this happens with all type of memory - SD Cards, SSDs, RAM, etc.) as a system drive, especially with the way some software is

RE: New Intel Arc A770 GPU support?
I doubt vram is ever a bottleneck for Vegas or anything else except gaming. Vegas does use it for buffering but my sense is vram speed might be more important than amount... I get better Vegas performance with a 4gb VegaM with hbm2 vram compared to

RE: Initial render benchmarks with Intel A750/A770
H.264 decoding/encoding benchmark . With these tests, Resolve most likely causes no bottlenecks and the results are the maximum decoding/encoding performance of the hardware. Arc decoding worse than IGPU which I think is what @Howard-Vigorita

@Reyfox Ah yes, but doesn't he use the intel graphics for decoding? Whereas me and you both have 3900x. When I put in my old Radeon R9 380 I had no crashes either, only with the newer ones. But I don't regret getting the RX 6800, Vegas aside, it's a

@Seb-o It's not a GPU processing problem (lack of GPU power) I demonstrate this here, by playing back an 8K60fps AV1 with noise reduction and 'contrast pop' turned on. I am playing back on a 4K timeline due to VRAM limitations and also when The 2

RE: Native Webm Support in Vegas Pro 19
Yeah, but it'll get 8k to stream on the internet, which is no small trick. It will also be used (maybe a lot) when ATSC 3.0 is in every US market. HEVC (.h265) is at least as compressed, maybe a tad smaller in the bits-vs-quality game. And AV1? It's

RE: Vegas Became completely unusable
That said, personally I think it was a mistake to release the decoder as is with VP 15- it should have been touted as a beta feature that was opt-in so users could opt for GPU decoding and get those performance boosts at the tradeoff that it didn't
