  Proxy creation before editing is recommended with all GoPro footage. It is an acquisition format that is just not optimized for efficient editing. If you can upload a little native 8x7 footage to Drive or Dropbox, I'd like to test it in VP 20.

  Which build of 19? What media do you use? I found 19.550 to be the most mature and stable, though other users had a good experience with the final build. For tweaks in general leave it on defaults. Maybe try checking legacy AVC if you have problems
