RE: [Closed] After years of using Vegas I am about to switch
1. I have gone thru all of that on a previous post, I supplied all asked for info and no one had a solution, the only person that was responding stopped responding. 2. You may be right but it's strange that I never experienced it with Vegas before

cineform issues
I'm not sure if a recent windows update has broken my Vegas V19 and now 20. Unfortunately I didnt discover it until recently. My workflow has been to take my canon c70 footage shot in mxf 422 10 bit, and transcode to prores for easier editing and

RE: Why is HEVC legacy enabled by default?
I was testing my new system (and freshly installed Vegas post 19 and 365 v20) with a GoPro clip of mine, and playback was not smooth (to put it mildly). I opened up File I/O in preference, and I noticed HEVC legacy was enabled by default and HW

Preview lagging in Vegas 19 365 but not in Vegas Pro 18
I am working on a project with clips from multiple cams. The large size files playback OK in the preview window. The files from a GoPro with H265 encoding lag terribly. There are 1080p files not 4K. Yet they play fine in Vegas 18 and Vegas 17. I

RE: How to see in Vegas if a Proxy exists for a media file?
FWIW: I hate waiting for Vegas' proxy generation so disable it and create my own using Handbrake or FFMPEG when needed. I've used FFMPEG for these workflows too. - to auto-merge multiple Osmo Action or GoPro files into one (avoiding audio-drop/gaps)

RE: VP20 Hanging on each use (never when rendering)
If it hangs it's possible to create a crash dump of the file from task manager. I think there are other logs as well. That may be more useful to Vegas support than to the rest of us though. What media are you working with?

RE: difficulties with new software version
Hi Python, I checked online and Driver Version: 472.47 - Release Date: Wed Nov 10, 2021 is the latest so that's fine. You can add apps in Windows "graphics settings", but that's to assign it between GPUs. It doesn't seem like your CPU has its own

RE: Pro 19 No smooth playback 10-bit video footage Panasonic GH5 II
If you had an x264 encode from handbrake - default settings as some sort of standard, then measured editing and scrubbing performance over a range of camera AVC files you would find a large variance in their ability to be played back on vegas, some

RE: Vegas 19 continually crashing, unusable, but 13 stable same PC?
But now I've been spoiled (between crashes) by how smooth the playback is of clips with effects and stabilization applied without the legacy AVC decoding enabled, where do I go from here? A new GPU? I will have to browse the forum ;) You didn't

Need advice on which software to purchase
I have a GoPro 9 Hero that is not compatiable with my old Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 7.0. I think it is a much newer video encoding which was bound to happen. I also want a NLE that gives me chroma keying and decent text options. What is my best

RE: Preview is very slow
When editing, barely 6GB of RAM is used. The problem is that I don't see my graphics card in "I/O File". After disabling "legacy AVC decoding" it seems to work better, playback is smooth, just jerky transitions (which I can understand). I see the

360 video render mp4 does not open
I have shot 360 video on a GoPro Max 360. I CAN bring it into Vegas Pro 19 with no problem, do editing, etc. in 360 mode. However, when I render, even in 360 mode, I only get one choice for the render codec, and it creates and MP4 file that will not

Vegas Pro 19 Random Crashes - 4k Video
Hi, I'm hoping the group here can help me. I've been editing video for quite a while now as a hobby, (started in the early 2000s) and i've been moving through the various editing suites, and really like Vegas at the moment. I've been using it almost

I admit that I don't understand it, but if nvidia and amd allow the gpu to play hevc and h624, is it such a problem to copy their code to SO4? What to try in the same way as they did in Davinci or Adobe? I think the problem is it's old software

RE: Play back lagging at 422 10bit
You're missing the point here. Vegas users are noticing, *on their existing systems*, that free players like VLC seem to effortlessly provide stutter-free playback of files (like 100Mbps GoPro 5k HEVC) that give VP fits in any preview mode (auto,

+1 to RogerS's advice - that's basically what I do, though my Sony 4K camera (FDR-AX100E) doesn't have an HEVC choice. I am very keen on railway videos including so many driver cab views in Switzerland (YoutTube lorirocks777 and Railway Emotions)

Is this issue repeatable from the same source footage through Voukoder? Does it happen with just a straight MagixAVC/Mainconcept render? Unlike black frames, this is unusual. Anyway if it happens again do make a thread and hopefully we can get to

RE: Play back lagging at 422 10bit
This discussion reminds me of a famous folk tale, The Blind Men and the Elephant. One can preview on-the-fly (system dependent), selective RAM or file prerender, create proxies, or full quality intermediates. That's about it; Sonic Foundry decided
