FOR GOD SAKE, SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE! VEGAS NEW VERSION

Brunno wrote on 11/9/2023, 10:04 AM

Hey guys, after this new version of Vegas I don`t know why it changed some preference things, not only reset all of them, but also with some that are super annoying. Every time I put new FX I need to close the window in order to apply. How I change that? It's not applying with the FX window opened. Ex: using chroma key I cannot see the any change till I close the FX window.

nVidia card? Sounds like the nVidia driver version needs to be updated. Make sure you do a clean install of the newest version.

I guess I was not that clear. What I'm saying is what I'm showing in that video. Previously, when I applied any FX it automatically turned on, and I could see the change right away. But now I need to apply the FX, cannot see any change at all, and then I need to close the window so the FX can be turned on. This is just an example with chroma key, but its happening with any FX. Imagine you are color grading a project and you need to apply, make the change, close the window every single time you make a tiny color change. Imagine the time wasted. And it was not like that before. That's whats I'm saying. Sounds clear now? I guess is just and option/preference to disable, but I don't know which one and how

It looks like you are running VEGAS on a windows VM...very likely a GPU driver issue.

not VM bro, I'm using the same way that I always did

The problem your fellow Vegas users have is that we don't what "the same way that I always did" was.

Listen to @jetdv.

@Brunno Sounds like the exact same FX issue dealt with in the thread jetdv linked for you. More detail on your system and config would clarify that.

jetdv wrote on 11/9/2023, 12:58 PM

@Brunno, did you even look at the link I provided?

Are you using an nVidia video card?

Some nVidia drivers had an issue where the preview was not updating while the effect window was open but the preview would update as soon as it was closed. That's exactly what you're describing. If you install the newest driver and force it to do a clean install of that driver, it should all work again "the same way that it always did".

I have the same issue, but am on AMD. Is this a known issue for AMD graphics cards? It was fine right up until the last Vegas update. Any help would be appreciated thank you.

Known, but solved, issue for NVIDIA not AMD.

What's your AMD GPU and driver version? You might want to start your own thread.

My GPU is Radeon RX 6800M and driver version is according to Adrenalin is Windows Driver Version
31.0.22023.1014

I am not sure if this is the problem, but I think when looking at the GPU accelaration, it picks up my CPU bt not my GPU potentially. Can't remember if it did that in the setting before. Wondering if that will cause problems with the preview screen.

I have the same issue on my laptop with the following specs:

ASUS Vivobook S16
OS: Windows 11 Home 24H2
CPU: AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370
GPU: Radeon 890M (integrated on the CPU)
RAM: 32 GB LPDDR5

AMD Adrenalin driver version: 24.10.18.11 (July 29th 2024)

I'm using MAGIX Vegas Pro version 19.0 (Build 651)

It seems to happen with any input footage, but I'm specifically editing MP4 "XAVC" files recorded with a Sony Alpha 6000 (ILCE-6000)

Switching the "GPU acceleration" setting in the "Video" tab to "Disabled" fixes the issue. But I'd really like to be able to use Vegas Pro with GPU acceleration.

I searched on the Internet and on this forum, but the solutions I have found are not applicable to me:

  • The "Split Screen View" button is disabled. It's not the cause of my issue.
  • I don't have an Intel integrated + Nvidia dedicated system, so all the solutions pertaining to these circumstances are not applicable.

Has anyone with an AMD GPU found a fix for this issue??

@Floflo81

Yours is an enirely different issue than was posted; you are using different equipmnent and an older Vegas version than the year-old post you have tacked on to.

For best results and responses on this user forum, please start your own thread topic, clearly stating your issue instead of comparing it to other posts, and provide the required information posted here, Thanks:
