Snipping it?

Hi Norbert,

You could achieve a similar thing if you use Picture-in-Picture, e.g. 4 pips can hold 4 camera tracks. Good luck.

Editing 10-bit 4K video from a GH5 is EXTREMELY unstable on my Ryzen 7 1800x system with Nvidia GTX 970, 32gb DDR4. I'm trying to render out a clip I shot in VLOG, with nothing but some level adjustments added to it, from a festival I was at recently. Just getting the video onto the timeline, importing it, resulted in 2 crashes. Now that it is on the timeline, it crashes every time I try to make even the most basic edits.

I haven't even tried the 400mbps all intra frame 4K that GH5 now offers... If vegas can open it at all, it probably won't be very stable if it struggles with this standard 150mbps setting.

I want to upgrade from 13 Suite, but am I going to be losing any features if I only upgrade to 15 Pro Edit?

Also, it looks like there are still some quirks to work out. Should I wait to upgrade later? I'm not getting into any crazy editing, but don't have time for a program that doesn't work well.

Honestly I'm not sure about either as far as specifics, but I just don't have the time to do a detailed comparison. I do real estate videos, so it's not as in-depth, but need to keep 4k capabilities and need something better as far as color balance/correction than what I have now. Thinking ColorFast 2 is a solution to that. Been doing this on the fly and self-teaching.

I did it finally using the pan/crop window, I had 9 camera angles. I think it would be a great feature if there was an option to render out the multi camera view.

AFIAK Colorfast 2 is a NewBlu filter that comes with the Pro 15 version. Not in Edit and no need for the Suite version

Actually Colorfast 2 is included in one of the current upgrade offers, such as . Also http://www.vegascreativesoftware.com/us/newsletter/upgrade-vegas-pro/

Do we have any idea when the new patch will be coming out? I would love to use the Magix codec again, but as of now it's still unusable when using NVENC. It's the only reason I upgraded.

I am one happy camper. Just upgraded from 12.0 to 15.0. I had a video that I was working on back in 2011 and it crashed Vegas Pro when ever I tried to open it up. It was a 2 hour travel video that I had about 90% done. After upgrading to 15.0 I tried to open it up and it loaded and worked fine, right away. Now I can finish it. I was really disappointed and spent hours with support but we were unable to come up with why it wouldn't load. Love version 15.0.

Can you guys disable the ESC button's function during rendering? I accidentally canceled a 5 hour long rendering at 88% -.-"

Norbert wrote on 11/20/2017, 7:41 AM

A dialog box that would ask if I really want to cancel the rendering would be a nice to have.

Yes.

I agree with this as well. I will put a task in our backlog. Can't promise when (or if) it will be prioritized, but it will be something we will consider.

I have some problems with Vegas Pro 15 (build 216) Some crashes and when I'm editing a video with a music audio and Voice, I have two tracks one music and the other one the Voice but the problem is when I repeat it, the voice audio distorted. Please help, maybe the Magix team can do something about it. Thank you!

A problem has popped up that never existed in other versions prior to V15/216; while rendering a newly created *.wav track and replacing the old with the new in my Audio folder, Vegas now doesn't just overwrite the old name while preserving its name, but adds a redundant .wav to the existing one so that the name now appears as Name.wav.wav instead of just Name.wav.

This of course makes it impossible to replace the old with the new in my animation software without having to go through several extra steps to erase the redundant extension. The template I am using is 48,000 Hz. 16 bit.PCM but almost the same happens when trying out the Sony Wave64 (except the redundant extension is called .wav64). Is there something I might be overlooking since the Render Panel has been improved in 216 or is this a build 216 bug?

@DemureZ This is a known issue. Disable so4compoundplug.dll. Previous case here.

I use Excaliber's multi-camera workflow -- superior IMO in many ways, and rendering out the multi-view is as simple as rendering anything else.. just do so before the master track is created, or mute the master track to see the 9-up.

When we're editing on our slower workstations, I'll often pre-render the multi-view out (creating a "proxy" for it, in essence) so the editing can be done without dropped frames on the slower editing workstations.

Please make sure that if I (or script) cancels the rendering using API call (obviously this is not an accidental behaviour) - no dialog is displayed ;)

The dialog should be displayed if a user clicked the button or pressed Escape key.
