Who of you all tried to use "nested" vegs with this new build?
If you want to try, use only vegs without the swap0 file already present or use new and very simple vegs to nest in a mainproject.
With me it results in 100 % crashes, while there was in build 311 no problem.

You are right!
I did this same nesting 2 weeks ago in build 311 - no problem at all.
Now i renamed the sfap0-files and tried it in build 321 - it crashed while rendering the secound veg.
See screenshot.

Is there also a problem with customizing the keyboard? For the life of me I cannot customize a simple short cut like the up and down arrows. Strange.

If you mean this - I made a test - it works, see screenshot.

Can you find the up and down arrow keys that minimize and stretch out the time line? In vegas help it is called zoom in and out but I cannot find any reference to this when looking.

Finally I am asking again for some infos:

Is HEVC 4K nvenc implemented in V15 or not? - Is there any infos about it in the forum? - another thread?

THNX for your kind hints......

If anyone would like to try to replicate the issue I was having, this is the project and all dependent media. It's a big file, though, so only bother with it if you have some time and bandwidth to spare. The project should be set to QFHD 4K 23.97 32 bit (video levels) best quality with resample disabled. When you try to render out a 4K file (I've tested ProRes XQ, Magix AVC), GPU on or not, the frames start to get all jumbled up towards the middle of the project, eventually it will hang and go back and forth between 2 frames.

Setting it to 8 bit solves the rendering issue, but I wanted to offer this project file to see if we can get the issue fixed for those who need to use 32 bit projects.

@david-ruby
If I understand you correctly, the standard is the mouse wheel - and that's how it has been since I work with Vegas(11)

1. Mouse scroll - still doesn't work as it should be (in OFX plugin sliders).

2. windows in the toggle dock (video FX, transitions, trimmer etc.) - they change the order themselves. After starting the program, their order is random. Every time I have to restore the saved setting.

3. The closing icon "X" on tab (in the toggle dock) - is in the wrong place. Now it's easy to close the window (video fx) when switching.

4. In case of one window (etc. Video Preview), the tab is not needed. It takes only the place to minimize the msame preview window.

In my opinion, the old interface (VP14) was better. Much better.

VP15 (whatever the latest number is) crashity crashity crash crash. White screen in preview, black screen in preview, GPU on, GPU off, lockups. Back to 14 for me. Are we just $#@!ed, or can we get refunds for a non working purchase?

Uhm.. are you using any special addons, scripts or effects from third parties?

I keep reading about the problems you guys have and.. i do not have any issues except few minor UI inconveniances and the so4 dual audio desync issue.

I can edit mp4s from shadowplay just fine with crossfades and audio fx, i can render and preview just fine..

I'm on a R7 1800x, 16 gb ram, gtx1080, ssds.. I don't have any other 3rd party plugins other than Magix eFX and the upgrade offer stuff from Boris and Newblue.

Thank you Walter. Yes this is on the mouse wheel as well as the up and down arrows. I am trying to move the up and down arrow short cut to my comma and period keys.

I have downloaded all files to test but don’t have neat video.

If these missing files were NOT to be part of this test project could you have saved and updated the test project accordingly? so as that missing files would not be reported, or is it the case that you haven’t uploaded these missing files?

Missing files reported by project.

Yep. And they all worked fine in older versions of 15, and 14 and 13

Working on that now, give me a few to get that sorted out. Edit: the final missing file is uploading now, should be done in about 3 minutes. If Vegas still complains about missing files, if the file has a - followed by 3 numbers at the end of the file name, ignore that. Google drive added that to some files, so it may be that the -xxx at the end of the filename is missing. See if you can find a filename that corresponds with the numbers before the dash to replace it with.

As for Neat Video, you can disable it, as it isn't required to make the bug I'm reporting happen. If you want to try with it, there is a demo available.

fr0sty wrote on 3/14/2018, 3:16 PM

LOL, sorry about that... I had everything set up just right, and then google drive started renaming files (but only when YOU go to download them, I cannot rename them back before that point). The files on my G drive are named properly, but it adds the hyphen and those numbers when you click download.

Ok so done/got all that. Back soon with result after render attempt, not using Neat Video.

Might take a while, building proxies etc., disabled automatically create proxies, its rendering now.

Former user wrote on 3/14/2018, 4:25 PM

Render aok, just the “Vegas has stopped working ...” crap at the end when I exited Vegas, sometimes happens.  25m 51seconds render time on laptop, see my profile for info. on laptop.

Output file size 3.64 gb, overall data rate 51.0 MB/s, 420, 4K uhd.

Output settings in render template ...

Magix MC .mp4

Video tab ..

23.976fps

4K UHD

Nvenc used ...

50/135 data rate

High Quality

VBR

Audio tab ... 256 data rate

Project tab ... Video rendering quality .. best

Project settings are already as you set, 32 bit pixel format etc.

I’ll test on PC later, no Neat Video used, no missing files now.

fr0sty wrote on 3/14/2018, 4:32 PM

Thank you for taking the time to test this out. Please post your hardware setup and GPU driver version used as well, so we can try to start isolating which differences are causing the problem. If your desktop also gives issues, I am going to try completely uninstalling Neat Video from my system , then I will do another render to see if that helps anything... but I get the errors whether I have it enabled in my project or not.

PC test ...

Same render settings as for laptop.

Got to 54 % and not going anywhere.

I tried MC, not nvenc, similar render settings otherwise, i.e. 4k uhd output. Only got to maybe 1 or 2%, bombed out, low on memory.

I tried a FHD render template, nvenc, crashed out immediately, my 16gb of memory gone.

Maybe I should have restarted PC between crashes, but its not going to render out on this PC.

My graphics driver is 388.13, basic specs in profile.

So memory issue.

Former user wrote on 3/14/2018, 7:30 PM

PC only ...

I updated to the very latest graphics driver 391.05. The render completed this time with the same as laptop render settings, nvenc, took longer, yet should be faster. Problem is that the resulting output file has intermittent black sections interspersed in it. I could see these black sections as it rendered. It was rendering using 15 gb of the 16 gb mostly. If I play your project and watch the preview window it appears ok, but if I pause then the screen goes black. Maybe the updated graphics driver.

I don’t experience this with my various, mostly small projects, although I mostly shoot in 4K UHD, 25fps, I render to FHD, 25fps, my projects are 8 bit not 32 bit. I loaded up one or two of my previous projects and they played ok and no black preview screen on pause, as is with yours. So it must be really a 32 bit / memory issue?

Of course not to forget that the laptop rendered fine without these issues!

fr0sty wrote on 3/14/2018, 8:30 PM

Glad to see I'm not the only one here! So we have a repeatable problem.

That's the exact same problem I've been having. I'll either get black frames, or sometimes it will look like it is playing forwards, then backwards, then forwards, etc... stuttering back and forth, then it will eventually just freeze.

Hopefully this helps Magix isolate what could be causing it.

Your laptop works... and it also has a GTX 10xx series GPU, so that hints towards it not being GPU related. CPU on both systems is an intel i7, and mine is AMD Ryzen 7, so not likely CPU related. I wonder what it is different in the memory setup that allows your laptop to render it just fine? I'm using 64gb DDR4 3000mhz.

1. Mouse scroll - still doesn't work as it should be (in OFX plugin sliders).

Confirmed. (tested with Vegas 'Brightness & Contrast' and 'Filmconvert')

Any selected FX slider only works with <mousewheel up> but not with <mousewheel down>. Very annoying Bug when you make fine adjustments on the fly.
