Can I turn off the event headers only on audio tracks? I like them on the video tracks but on the audio tracks are confusing. CTRL+SHIFT+M hides it from everywhere.

GUI in VP16 became slow as a hell in comparison with VP15. Just moving the events take huge amount of time...

Hi, have you tried turning off Thumbnails?

OPTIONS / PREFERENCES / VIDEO / Thumbnails to show in video evets : NONE

This improves a lot of performance if you are ok to work without thumbnail guides.

I wonder what is preventing Vegas developers from solving Vegas PRO 16 + Waves 10 stutter issue. It's been a problem since Vegas Pro 13.

Hmmm New bug. I still have 435 other uncorrected bugs yet.

Please Vegas Team. For 15 years, we've been looking for your bugs for free and we've been paying for your software. I'm tired of it.

@set - I tried disabling (by renaming) the OFX folder but unfortunately it doesn't resolve the crash issue when opening Vegas. It only gets as far as "creating video plug-in factory..." and then crashes every time with "Vegas Pro has stopped working". Vegas Pro 16 has never opened for me yet (either the initial release or Update 1). Has anyone else had this issue and found a solution?

@richardbushell Do you have an older version of the SeMW extension installed?

I see the option in RED, but that does not move the child

In other vegas the option is there on the Blue arrow.

I dont khow why does not move

Your track headers are not wide enough to display the Parent Motion and Parent Composite Mode buttons. Either widen the width of the header area or hide some of the buttons you do not use very often.

Thank you my friend!

This is because of new "storyboard-style" project media tab with trimmer on each file in it. If this window closed - everything works perfect.

zdogg wrote on 9/5/2018, 5:08 PM

The Monitor Icon/switch on button in the Trimmer often disappears, and when the regular Preview Window is collapsed, the audio in the Trimmer Window grows to half that height of the window, there is, like I said, no ext. monitor Icon, you see three thumbnails in the Trimmer viewer, (instead of one) and you cannot reduce nor change at all the audio track height in that Trimmer window. Plus my Trimmer External Monitor won't play (but that may be partly my external Black Magic card, Intensity pro)...or is finicky. I think I'm going back to Ver. 15 for a while.

I do wish Vegas would allow my Mini Monitor 10 bit card to work as does the Intensity, which is only 8 bit.

OK, rendering mysteries again, NVENC and all that. On the computer with the 1050ti NVENC is not offered as a render option, on the computer with the 730 it is. Where's the issue, is it because one installation is an upgrade and the other a new installation?

Also, I get 13+ frames pr. second in rendering on the box with the 730 and hardly 3 frames pr. second on the box with the 1050ti. Why is the 1050ti in the Dell 490 dual xeon not properly used? - is it an OS issue, windows10 on the box with the 730 and windows 7 on the 490?

fr0sty wrote on 9/6/2018, 4:12 AM

Try to update your GPU drivers. The NVENC stuff disappearing is usually a dead giveaway of that being the cause.

Nah, last weeks driver of the week broke the box, error 43, back to the driver from March 23, that one Windows likes  and installed when I put the card back in this 3MHz dual xeon 490 after having toiled with the card getting constantly disabled in a 2something dual xeon megahz 490. I tend to think this card needs a firmware update, but none seems available. The previous owner only had it for a year before updating it to a 1080ti .... hmmm ...there IS an update .... I'll be back later .... [addendum] ...that failed, upgrade was apparently not applicable, it was about improved compatibility for the newfangled (cheaper to produce] video card connectors.

Do I have to pay an upgrade price for Vegas 16 after not being able to use vegas 15 this whole time? Tell me no?

Considering the vast majority of us have been using 15 for the past year, I'd say yes.

Our editing team couldn't edit our sony a7s files all this time so it sits to collect dust.Might have to sell her. Can anyone say if it works now? XAVC-s files?

It works with XAVC-S files from my a6300 and AX700 but so does VP14 & 15.

@david-ruby Try adding <general Format="XAVC" /> to C:\Program Files\VEGAS\VEGAS Pro 16.0\so4_blacklist_vp15.xml so that XAVC-S gets decoded by compoundplug.dll instead of so4compoundplug.dll. I've edited A7sII XAVC footage for our music festival recaps in Vegas 14 and 15, so I'm not sure what the issue is on your end. Nick's suggestion should solve it, either way.

Ok that is weird. We get the slow dropping frames and the simple transition over lap that stops then starts on the over lap of frames. Hmmm.

@david-ruby The location of the file is OK in that build but the file as shipped does not blacklist XAVC-S. To do that you would have to change your C:\Program Files\VEGAS\VEGAS Pro 15.0\so4_blacklist_vp15.xml to this:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<filter_expr type="OR" comment="exclude IDR/I files where M = 1">
    <video Title="DJI.AVC" />
    <video Title="GoPro AVC" />
    <video Title="XiaoYi AVC " />
    <!-- Formats below added by user -->
    <general Format="XAVC" />
</filter_expr>

Or you could just disable so4compoundplug.dll completely, but that will break support that you might need for other formats.

fr0sty wrote on 9/7/2018, 12:51 PM

If you're unsure of how to do that, right click on the file, open with, then choose notepad or any other text editor. You'll see all the code in the file, just replace it with what is above.
