@Damian The markers are part of the event, they are media markers. you can see them in your event on the main timeline. This makes sense since can move the event around on the timeline and your markers wont get misplaced. New in VP22 - those markers are also snappable, so you can still do your editing according to them

ok, on 4k notebook hardly to see, line is very thin

@Tolyasha-Krug

Вы используете серийный номер Vegas Pro 22? Если у вас бессрочная лицензия, лицензия Vegas Pro 21 не будет работать для Vegas Pro 22.

I am from Ukraine, I bought a license when it was build 208, all subsequent versions did not work correctly... it turns out that I never updated... I lost the desire to buy a license in the future!

@pierre-k No issues with your supplied video with the hardware I am using. I used the left/right arrow keys to see if I could also produce what you showed, and everything played back fine with preview set to Best>Full.

EXPLORER WINDOW SCROLL BAR
Is there something wrong or has the bottom bar of the Explorer window really "disappeared"?

On the other hand, opening a 22 minute long project with just color adjustments and without any difficulty (1920x1080 25fps) took (timed) 2:54 minutes: VERY VERY slow...

Automatic Preview does NOT memorize the (selected) settings It is disabled at each startup

I just downloaded, installed, and tested it. Had issues with some native AI plugins and my RedGiant Universe Plugins initially before installing the Deep Learning Modules. Now they're working, but my Ignite Pro plugins that I lean on and which worked perfectly in Vegas 21 turn the preview black, showing no effect, no note as to why, or anything. Please tell me there's a fix for this.

I very much agree. To be blunt, Vegas' text features don't perform very well. The most commonly used titles and texts are the same, except for the legacy text prototype titler. Font search for the title and body is not possible, each font must be found manually, and the body color cannot be partially changed, but must be changed as a whole to change the color.
This kind of text functionality doesn't exist in any software currently, but the comments below are even more shocking. The work is not progressing... So when...

Same here. Fonts that have been added manually are not displayed in Vegas Pro 21. The use of the title function is obsolete. I would like to see a revised titler that is intuitive, modern, works well and has modern templates.

The text and titling function is essential, but I don't have the time to learn third-party tools.

Does Vegas 22 support 32-bit audio? If so, what is the max sample rate (48khz, 96khz, etc)?

@Barton-Santello Vegas has been able to read 32-bit float recorded audio for some time. Pcm integer audio input formats have always been limited to 8, 16, or 24-bits. Lately, Vegas has also been compatible with 64-bit vst. But it's never been featured to raise back-end audio storage width or math precision to match. For cleaner multi-track audio mixing and mastering, I use apps which have options for 32- or 64-bit back end storage and integer, single- or double-precision 64-bit math. Such as Reaper, Sonar, and recent versions of ProTools. Vegas audio sample rates up to 192k have been around for a while.

So like, I decided to test the trial of 22 before committing to upgrading, being excited to hear about the new better gpu support and less playback lag, but whenever I have GPU acceleration enabled for my amd 7900XT gpu, the imported videofiles get all chopped up and stuttery, not the preview, the actual imported video file. Switching to the integrated cpu graphics fixes the issue. My current version is VP20 and I have no issues with this what so ever. As a sanity check I did also import the same video file into VP20 with no issues, updated my gpu, and I tried several files in both versions.

Anyone with some suggestions, or should I just wait and see until new patches are released?

(please excuse the random biden v. trump debate I used as test footage, its great because its extremely long (and boring) and has speaking which is great at showing audio misalignment)

@Stevie It's the expected behavior. Vegas interpretes the action of left-dragging .veg files as nesting rather than opening. To open them directly, right-drag them to Vegas and select Open.

RogerS wrote on 7/31/2024, 8:18 AM

@DustBin Based on that error message, this file seems to have a very long GOP (not the political party) but rather a long interval between reference frames which VEGAS can struggle to decode.
22 is using AMD decoding with a new MXCompound decoder. 20 is using a much older decoder with Intel QSV.

So run the file through ShutterEncoder (convert to h264 and change advanced settings to limit the keyframe interval/ GOP to your framerate of 60) or Handbrake (production standard preset).

DustBin wrote on 7/31/2024, 9:06 AM

@RogerS so I ran it through handbrake, and sure enough, its now running as smooth as butter. I can't thank you enough for your help. Not only that but I immediately noticed a general performance increase from VP20 prob due to said new gpu integration. The only worry is if I have to start running all media through a converter, it might get a little boring after a while. But I'll continue to test 22, see if it can justify upgrading or if I should hold on to my current version or something.

RogerS wrote on 7/31/2024, 9:31 AM

Glad it helped you!

20 would likely also benefit from the conversion (or if there are settings in your downloader you can change try that or do the conversion right after the downloading stage).

Formats like HEVC benefit even more from the improvements since VP 20 (AVC is actually pretty easy to decode with a few exceptions like the file you are trying to use).
