Translate:
I would like to propose a change.
In Vegas pro I use "Normal Edit tool cursor" (ctrl+D)
When i want select multiple clips , need to press "D" to change on: "Selection Edit Tool"
Ok and next, I want fade some clips, press 2 times "D" , and next select some others clips (press again 2 times "D") , and next, and next.

80% times when i work on vegas i press "D" on keyboard.

Solution:
Normal Edit Tool - when i want select more clips , the cursor, make the same action, when i press "Envelope Edit Tool" (read - 1 press "D" ... )
so. Normal Edit Tool , and Envelope Edit Tool do this same.
Why Normal Edit tool cursor cant select clips. No need every time press 2 times "D"

@weinerschizel in your video you talk about two totally different things, layout and crashes.

I didn't understand (maybe other did) what layout you want VP to have and has not.

Crashes can be from many reasons. I think the layout is hardly one of them.

I think you have some problem with your system or Vegas installation as when I follow your instructions I see the saved layouts and if one of the saved layouts is selected then explore folder takes you to the correct folder where the layouts are saved. I suggest that you configure the layout to what you want and use the view window layouts menu to save your layout (renamed to your liking). It will then be saved to the folder under your username. You can then select this layout at any time via the view window layout menu. If Vegas crashes before saving and normal closure it may not save your settings or window layout, same for having the project show in the last file menu.

Layout is a feature request, not a bug. I want the ability to override the default layout / define the default layout it loads with every time. That way, when I have to reload the software I don't have to load my layout every time.

This is an even bigger issue for me as the software crashes so much. I'm constantly reconfiguring the environment as I constantly have to reload the software. If it was stable, I wouldn't have to worry as much. I could just set the layout on each load but my last edit probably software crashed a couple hundred times over around a week of work, each time I had to reload the layout.

Biggest feature request: STABILITY!

I second this! They are not handling exceptions in their code, nor are they controlling resources. My former post. I'd LOVE to talk with a programmer on the team so I could impart this among other things. I may try to reach them through social media / LinkedIn or something.

A.I. Sky replacement

I do this quite frequently with keying. I have some Ignite brand, plugins, and also Vegas has better keying plugins now, including secondary color corrector. You mask out the sky and composite whatever you like below it in it's place. Not sure if that's what you're getting at? Or a more automated approach?

@weinerschizel, the layout that I have always is there whenever I start Vegas. As for VP20 crashing all the time, I've not had one crash yet. I have a friend that does corporate videos in Belgium, and he too has said this is the most stable version of Vegas he has used in his short time of using Vegas since VP18. I too use Ignite Pro 5 plugins along with Boris and NBFX.

My feature request (running for a few years now), I am still advocating to have a "padlock" on the track header to lock the entire track.

I've recently upgraded from Vegas Pro 11... to Vegas Pro 20! Wow, what a huge difference... obviously :) I held back for many years because I've been reading about numerous issues with crashes. I jumped the gun and made the purchase. So far I'm very impressed... until...

I've experienced a crash in Vegas Pro 20 from using the Titler Pro version 1 that came with VP 11. I know it's too old to be compatible with VP 20. Even the free plugins like the NewBlue Starter Pack many ages ago... don't work at all.

This brings me to suggest a feature request. The ability to disable plugins in the plugin manager window. This way we don't have to be computer engineers to fiddle around a registry entry or renaming a DLL file just to make VP 20 work. This way the old plugins would continue to work with older versions of Vegas, while it's disabled in VP 20.

Somewhere around VEGAS Pro 14, some changes were made to the OpenFX and Titler Pro 3 and newer were modified to work with those changes (Titler Pro 5 was current at the time). It is not recommended that you try using Titler Pro 1 but is recommended that you upgrade to the most current version.

The Starter Pack effects should work fine, though. But, once again, that's 10 year old plugins so it's definitely recommended that you use the current versions.

Titler Pro 1, unless you purchased the serial number when Vegas Pro 13 was released, should have a watermark in any versions other than Vegas Pro 11 and 12.

Request: allow program updates to be permanently hidden with a click. "Never show this update again"

That would address users who find an update incompatible with their system. While it's possible to edit a cfg file to never receive any notifications, this method would be preferable as it wouldn't preclude them from being notified of any future updates.

Failing that add something to preferences/general or internal preferences to disable program update notifications.

defining rectangular/square masks by pixel size

as of now, there is no way tp precisely or exactly draw a rectangular or square mask, or to save them as presets.

All we can do currently is draw them by hand, which can be tedious and unprecise, and also makes it hard to duplicate them exactly.

It would be great if there was a box where we could simply type in length and width, like in photoshop, or determine the diameter of a circle.

The mask system also seems a bit buggy at times, when it suddenly becomes inpossible to select a mask without selecting other masks simultanusly that touch or overlap. Also, they sometimes seem to switch on or off or be "active" randomly.

Just one of these little things that would greatly improve workflow in certain situations.

Thanks.

Copy, Paste, Cut and Delete effects by shortkeys in the effects panel

I know what I'm asking for, is now already doable in Vegas Pro 20 by using Selectively Paste Event Attributes, which is already a great step forward!
Currently, the effects in the effects panel can only be indicated, made visible and invisible, movable between each other and are removeable by a button on the effect panel.
It would yet be easier if in the effects panel we could just copy one or more effects with its animation, paste, cut from one video to another video or delete effects by using its shortkeys : CTRL-c, CTRL-v, CTRL-x and with the DEL-button on the keyboard.
But as I said, using the Selectivety Paste Event Attributes in Vegas Pro 20 is already a big step forward! Thanks for that.

I want a more customizable UI. VP18's UI worked great on my laptop, but VP19 and 20 did not, but all are OK on my desktop. An option to return to VP18's UI would be fantastic.

FEATURE REQUEST:

When using Vegas 20, the INSERT VOLUME ENVOLOPES on timeline, I can barely see the line and dots for adjustment. I have a need for this line to have an option to be thicker and the dots larger so I can see and work with them. Without this option, it is a major disadvantage for me since it is a struggle to see the line, dots and arrow. ty

I'd like to be able to add media Fx to multiple media at a time by highlighting all and applying to one. It would be helpful to have a Fx button on media to see that they're applied or not.

Audio takes would be more useful to me (say for an interview have a louder and quieter backup track) if there were an audio envelope or other way to switch between takes during the track (when someone gets loud switch to the lower db take and then go back to the main audio track).

Using takes, you'd need to split around that section and then press "T" to get to the proper take.

Using multiple tracks instead of takes, you can easily use a volume envelope on the tracks to switch between them.

I second this, as well as applying changes to multiple Text Media at a time - like font, size, placement, etc.

ALSO REPOSTING THIS HERE BY REQUEST:

Just purchased Pro 365 and really, the Speech to text is fantastic. I do have a feature request in regards to this:

To be able to further customize the generated subtitles, similar to what Corel VideoStudio does, as in being able to combine subtitles into larger blocks of text. OR instead of the options of only 1 or 2 lines, to be able to increase it further up to say, 20 lines.

THANK YOU!
