Since MXF isn't a runner without removing the extra channels, so for best quality convert using the following ...

 

The lossless version immediately below plays in VLC but comes into VP as black and white only.

ffmpeg -y -hwaccel cuvid -c:v h264_cuvid -i source.mp4 -preset lossless -r 29.97 -c:v h264_nvenc -b:a 192000 CFR.mp4

This next example produces a very large file because QP = 1, but is probably near enough to lossless, and is useable in VP.
