Just adding my thanks, Peter, especially for the gap removal on the Panis.

Sirio wrote on 2/21/2017, 5:55 AM

Yes, the fond size is reduced when you reduce the width of the window.

Thank you, I don't know why, but I had to reboot to see the automation font size reduction. Now it works.

Thank you Peter. It's great to have ShowEventLength available for VP14.

In FadeMinFrames, after I do a "Trimm", the Trimm section is greyed out, even after I do an undo. Is that intended behaviour? It would be nice to be able to undo and try different values, or even trim extra frames 1 by 1.

Also it would useful to be able to ripple the events to close the gaps after trimming, or have the script honour the current Auto Ripple setting.

Also, it still says V2.01 in the title bar, despite being V2.02 :)

This extension would also be useful for trimming the first frame off the beginning of HEVC and ProRes files with non-whole-number frame rates. In VP14 build 211 the first frame of those files is repeated.

Would it be possible to have the text wrap around if the window get's smaller? Sometimes the file path is very long and it disappears to the right unless I make the window very wide.

I don't understand this. Where does a file path appear in these extensions?

Normally I block the control buttons while the program is active. As far as I know, there is no way for the CCs the get informed about an undo. However, I could simply reactivate, when done. I'll put this on my things to do list.

The propper ripple setting must be set by the user before.

I hope not to forget ist to change to V2.03 next time ;)

No not really with teh current control. As I mentioned in the other thread. Simply trimming the first frame would lead to a shift of the audio.

I assume, this is related to the ShowRecDat.

When I'm back from my upcomming voyage, I'll take care on the To Do List ;)

The events don't ripple for me even if auto ripple is on before doing a Trimm. Perhaps if the script is designed only really to operate "Fade" after "Trimm" then closing the gaps after a Trimm is not necessary.

Should not be, because I added the Trimm to an existing CC, that I wrote to get the event slightly overlapped for Vp13.I just check it and it works here. Did you select a video track ?

Hello

I have installed ShowEventLength just by curiosity, but now I think is an essential extension. Congratulation.
I just propose you an enhancement, if it possible: the function of summing more than one event selected.
Eg, I select two event placed side by side, and ShowEventLength tell me the sum of the length of both events.

What do you think about?

Peter_P wrote on 2/26/2017, 1:28 AM

Nick, I have seen your video but donst see a problem ?

I was wondering if it could/should do a ripple after the Trimm.

Thanks for the proposal Sirio, but currently I have no plan to implement that. This tool is mainly thought as an editing aid, when trimming an event.

Hi Peter. Forget about my idea. The time and numbers of action ton obtain the total should be the same that making a loop selection. I think your ShowEventLength extension is good like this.
May be make the possibility to select the two background colours, Vegas have a light and dark grey.

On request I added my DataNameClips tool for download. It allow to rename video files to the recording date and time. For DJI clips it allows to add the GPS data of the start location. You may also use a header as prefix to the names and select a group of clips to be processed.

See first post of this thread.

I installed ShowEventLength version 2.00 in Vegas 15 on Windows 7 and it was working well on my laptop. But after some restarts the menu now shows <?> beside the title and it seems to take no action. Copying the files again and unlocking the DLL again didn't fix it. Any ideas on how to fix?

Peter_P wrote on 2/9/2018, 1:21 AM

<?> is just the icon. Clicking on it should open the window. If you changed the monitor resolution, it my be outside the main window.

St3v3 wrote on 2/9/2018, 3:53 PM

Ahh, yes that was the problem. I had unplugged an external monitor from the laptop and the ShowEventLength window was opening off my visible screen. I plugged the external in again and found the window. All is again well!

I'm using Vegas Pro 16 248 and installed Show Event Length. I get a small window with "Show Event Length" and a close X box. However, it doesn't do anything when I select an event, i.e. it doesn't show the event length. Am I doing something wrong, or does this no longer work?

Marco. wrote on 9/25/2018, 12:17 PM

Maybe that window is just too small. Try dragging it larger.

@NCARalph

As Marco already wrote, you may have to adjust the size to see the data - like this :

I have just uploaded my old RouteAnimationX64_V1.02.zip to the above listed download link since some Vegas pro users are still waiting for an integrated solution and might like to use this meanwhile.

To find it all on one location, I have now added my ExportMarkerSFL to the above linked location

A bit late knowing these tools... but, when I tried downloading all of it:

The Windows 10 'reject' the file with the reason of possible trojan

Quite possible that Windows 10 is just taking the precaution-safe-approach on making sure the DLLs are safe.

Hi Set,

I just also loaded all the files together as a *.zip (434kB) and did let Win10 1903 Defender check them and did not get any alert. Also not after unpacking the main *.zip and checking all the contained *.zip files.

I've tried that download this morning - but I got no error using windows 10.
