Just installed V17 Suite. Screen Capture window doesn't show the video options panel and the capture window itself looks like an old cable TV scramble screen. Thinking I had a bad install I uninstalled, redownloaded, and reinstalled but to no avail.

I have exactly the same issue. Dell XPS i9 9980HK, Intel UHD 630, Nvidia GTX1650, 4K screen. Vegas Pro 17 Build 387 December 2019. Screen capture shows the webcam as an option, but there is no screen option. Changing resolution to 1080 has no affect. Audio records fine. Will this issue be flagged up to the s/w developers ?

For laptop users, have you tried this?

Right click on the application (VP17) and choose 'Run with graphics processor>integrated graphics'

I think this option is not available if there is only one graphic device. I don't have this option either.

fr0sty wrote on 12/31/2019, 7:50 AM

Try a GPU driver update, see if that helps anything.

Systems:

Desktop

AMD Ryzen 7 1800x 8 core 16 thread at stock speed

64GB 3000mhz DDR4

Geforce RTX 3090

Windows 10

Laptop:

ASUS Zenbook Pro Duo 32GB (9980HK CPU, RTX 2060 GPU, dual 4K touch screens, main one OLED HDR)

Correct, that's for laptop with dual-graphic devices... I also still figuring out how to do it in my i950 desktop with RX470 AMD Radeon ... and already having latest driver.

Just to let people know, In my case I was able to resolve the screen capture issues on my GFX card by changing to the NVIDIA Studio Driver from the Game Ready Driver.

Howard-Vigorita wrote on 4/23/2020, 7:59 AM

Fwiw, Vegas built-in screen capture is still non-functional for me on my Win10 Intel system with AMD & Intel iGpus. I use ReLive instead. It's built into AMD drivers if you activate it and works fabulously well.

Martin L wrote on 4/23/2020, 9:53 AM

Screen capture still not workin on any of my machines.

michael-harrison wrote on 4/23/2020, 10:18 AM

@Martin L @set IMO OBS Studio is a much better choice for screen cap

System 1:

Windows 10
i9-10850K 10 Core
128.0G RAM
Nvidia RTX 3060 Studio driver [most likely latest]
Resolution        3840 x 2160 x 60 hertz
Video Memory 12G GDDR5

System 2:

Lenovo Yoga 720
Core i7-7700 2.8Ghz quad core, 8 logical
16G ram
Intel HD 630 gpu 1G vram
Nvidia GTX 1050 gpu 2G vram

I also Have/Had this problem and discovered it works ok in 4x3 Monitor..

My 2 Widescreens are not the latest and have a screen res of 1680x1050 and I also get that horizontal effect... However if I change the Res to 1600x1000 ( left hand monitor ) on one of the monitors is works fine.

In the picture you can see the Left screen at 1600x1000 working fine and the right-hand screen at 1680x1050 with horizontal lines

So from my point of view it seems to be a screen res size problem in my case

Kerubin wrote on 5/14/2020, 9:38 PM

Unfortunately I'm having the same issue as the initial post. I have tried to fix the Res, the Color Grating, etc. However, I am unfortunately unable to properly get these Screen Captures to do exactly what I desire. What kind of aid could I get to fix this, or is this likely just a Laptop issue for me (i3 8th Gen core) with a 128gb Solid State Drive.

VEGASDerek wrote on 5/15/2020, 7:58 AM

We are aware of issues with some irregular aspect ratios. We are working on a fix for this.

Jim-N wrote on 6/10/2020, 7:21 PM

OK, I probably should have read all this before upgrading, as this is one of the main reasons I did it. No screen capture for me either, just the black screen. I'm using Windows 10 and all that good stuff....ideas?

dean-w wrote on 4/9/2025, 4:59 AM

2025 and still the issue goes on, is the company still operating

VEGASDerek wrote on 4/9/2025, 10:50 AM

Yes, we are still operating...

We are researching some new, more functional solutions for screen capture and hope to have something that we can release in the future.
