Disabling Wifi and disconnecting LAN worked for me. Thank you for your workaround. I don't mind for now.

Same problem here...
Can't open Vegas if I'm connected to internet...

MikeS wrote on 5/4/2023, 2:28 AM

The Vegas team probably already have this information, but just in case not: crash for me happens immediately after "Initialising Scripting" on splash screen

Oh, and in case it is useful, both Vegas Effects and Vegas Image remain working fine

Looking at system logs, I am not seeing anything relating to Vegas crashing. It's a deliberate act, Magix is closing our software. Bugs with so many operations but they perfect this of all things.

This issue started happening today (was fine yesterday 5/3/23). Ligit Vegas 19 Latest Build. Turning off internet fixed the problem. I look forward to a more permanent fix.

Here in Mataró we have 25 licenses Vegas Pro 20 with win10 and win11 also. If we change the date of the computer to May 1, it works correctly connected to internet. When could the problem be solved?

gabgilson wrote on 5/4/2023, 2:58 AM

UK based. Worked fine last night BST 19.00. Not this morning. Windows 11, Vegas pro 20. Am on ethernet connection and disconnecting that does allow me to open vegas - just a bit of a fuss having to scrabble around the back of the PC! Thanks for all the speedy ideas.

I have been using Vegas Pro 19 for some years. This morning it loads the splash screen on my Windows 11 desktop, but this disappears quickly and then nothing! I have tried several computer restarts. I uninstalled the program and reinstalled it from a Magix download this morning. It correctly brought up my registration details and apparently activated successfully. But on trying to run it I always get the same response, just a brief loading splash screen. I see someone else had the same problem yesterday.

In Device Manager, stopped the LAN internet devices and Vegas Pro 19 build 648 loads and runs. It has worked for me, but needs sorting URGENTLY, I agree!!!!!

The VP19 emergency update is still work in progress, but will be shared as well as soon as they are ready.

In the meantime:

For VP19, deactivate the ethernet device temporarily and start VP19, and reactivate ethernet device after VP19 fully launched. By the time of this writing, the emergency build is still in Work in Progress.

in Win10, go to:

  1. Settings
  2. Network & Internet
  3. Ethernet
  4. Change Adapter Options
  5. Click on the Ethernet device that connects you to the internet
  6. Click on Disable this network device.
  7. Start Vegas Pro. Once it has started you can then "Click on Enable this network device."

I'm late to work because of that. I always make and post the video before work. It took 40 minutes to figure out. Uninstalled the app, Downloaded again (the speed was terrible on your side). Than had to search the forums etc...

Hi All,

Had the same problem (UK). Downloading the version as highlighted above.

A suggestion - there needs to be some kind of Status page for Vegas that can be easily found where patches or urgent downloads can be found - on the Magix site after you login.

I just by chance came to the forum to post the issue. If I did not, I would not have known at all that a download with a fix was available.

After downloading and installing. The above fix worked - Vegas 20.

in my case, in addition to disconnecting from the internet, removing the folder MagixAiFx.ofx.bundle from C:\Program Files\VEGAS\VEGAS Pro 20.0\OFX Video Plug-Ins did the trick. Hopefully this gets fixed asap

@EricLNZ You are a life and game changer. All was working fine this morning at 00.30 hours. Switched off went to bed, then on booting up PC this morning I had this problem with both Vegas Post 19 and Edit 20 (trial) I uninstalled and reinstalled Vegas 20 from the website and all worked Ok. However when I uninstalled and reinstalled Vegas post 19 the same problem occurred. I then went to the forum to seek advice and perchanced upon your solution (disconnect from internet) all works fine now. So give yourself a pat on the back and take a few Brownie points. One thing I would like to offer is that when I looked in my C:\Users\{user name}\AppData\Local\VEGAS Pro\<version number> folder. The file plugin_manager_cache.bin was missing.

Peter_P wrote on 5/4/2023, 4:50 AM

After normal termination of Vp20 yesterday, it will not start today on my i7-13700 Win11 22H2

Last message is 'Initialize Scripting'

It also does not start with Reset and cache clear nor disconnecting from internet

I'll try the B403 soon…..

Hello:

We have de same problem but with vegas 19 build 648: we need a permanent solution for this version from Magix.

Thanks

gabgilson wrote on 5/4/2023, 5:02 AM

Happy to confirm Vegas pro 20 is loading as normal again for me with the new 403 patch. Took a few goes for a succesful download of the file, but fine after that. Thanks to all involved in the fix.

Vp20 B403 also solved the problem here and even better the previous 'Reset and cache clear' did not reset my Vegas configuration 😀

@NickHope why did you lock my thread when it was the first posted workaround, and still relevant to Vegas 19?

To anyone else who might know: Is there any hope that 19 will be patched like 20?

I suppose the good news is this issue shows that Vegas is actively being used by lots if oeople. :)
