Iphone 16 - distorted spacial audio

https://drive.usercontent.google.com/download?id=17mBuw9LXNTH2xl8gU4GFP5gR7DRgHq1G

It's a 32GB file!

UltraVista wrote on 9/25/2024, 6:04 PM

@andyrpsmith It's the prores version, would be helpful if someone could upload a AVC/HEVC version. A work around is to demux the video and audio then put them back on the timeline, the spacial audio tracks then work fine.

UltraVista wrote on 9/25/2024, 9:22 PM

Not correctly reading peak audio, the peak is at the word 'touch' , it gives a better reading if playback begins right before the peak, left channel +0.4db becomes +1.6db. As a comparison Fairlight reads peak from beginning of playback and reads +2.1db for 'touch' peak.

@prince-pep seems you have the same update issues I had, the fact that Vegas 22 b122 does not open at all after installing, points to this (that Vegas 22 is removed instead of installed)

I DID EVERYTHING YOU SAID BUT STILL VEGAS PRO 22 BIULD 122 DOESNT OPEN OR RUN

I'm having the same problem. I'm trying to install on a Windows 10 computer. You?

I'm liking the new Explorer - never used it much before - especially that the thumbnails stay put once generated.

But finding annoying that double-clicking on a thumbnail loads it into the timeline. It might go anywhere or even not be noticed if i double click accidently. Whereas project media loads it into the trimmer because thats an option I have chosen in preferences. Can we have that option for Explorer too? I am aware that there is a menu option or Ctrl-T to load into the trimmer but better to be consistent.

Since updating to 122, when rendering, my display goes awry. And the rendered file is unwatchable. ( see image).

It also has issues on basic playback. Got the GPU error message "Your current GPU has encountered problems. Please confirm that your drivers are up to date. If they are and you still see this message, switch to an alternate graphics card or bypass GPU acceleration"

GPU is up to date and I obviously don't wish to switch it off. So what's up with 122?
Another quibble I have - a big one, is that Vegas Pro 22 projects won't open in Vegas Pro 21.

You are sure the GPU is still healthy? Can it pass a GPU benchmark or stress test. I'm skeptical this is a VEGAS issue as no other NVIDIA users have reported it.

Another quibble I have - a big one, is that Vegas Pro 22 projects won't open in Vegas Pro 21.

With one exception (Vegas Pro 13 and 12), Vegas Pro projects have not been backwards compatible with earlier Vegas Pro versions. One way to copy a Vegas Pro project to an earlier version is to highlight and copy the timeline of the project (Ctrl-A and then Ctrl-C) and paste into the earlier Vegas Pro version (Ctrl-V). Track/Project level FX need to be reset and FX unique to the later version won't appear in the earlier version.

My GPU is Geforce RTX 3070. Acer Predator Helios 300. I just ran a benchmark test with Unigine and looks fine for 2K which I'm working with. Vegas 22.0.0.93 ran ok until update to 22.0.0.122. Then the issues began with GPU active. I uninstalled 122 and went back to 93. Same issues with GPU acceleration active.
Vegas Pro 21 and GPU runs and renders just fine with GPU acceleration active. The GPU is up to date.

@Stevie What is your refresh rate? If it is set to 144Hz, which is your monitor spec, maybe set it to 60 or 75 Hz and see if that helps.

@bitman My instinct is not to mess with computer settings at all just to satisfy one buggy program. Vegas pro 21 working fine at present and GPU passed Benchmark tests and up to date. It's just that for an unknown reason Version 122 is not behaving at all. Not just display issues but freezes. I uninstalled completely and reinstalled. Same issue

Slow loading of MKV (contains x264 video with AC3 2channel audio). If I give up(stop holding mouse button on timeline) Vegas will crash. What is seen here with that freakish drive activity is most likely what happens when others complain about some mp4/mkv crashing with long duration files. It crashes because they give up prematurely, but if loaded from a HDD instead of a SSD everybody would give up

Rendering a video game at 2k and working with 2k video are completely different worlds with completely different processor and memory requirements.

I also see you say you're using the game ready driver... VEGAS is recommended to use studio drivers. Try that. Your games will still work just fine. Studio drivers are just tested more thoroughly.
