    RE: Vegas Alternatives
Comparing 12.5 Beta1 and 2 to Release 12 version of Resolve in my system 1, on Release 12 (Win7) last year, sometimes I got crash during startup and AMD ATI Catalyst driver require restarting. But, on 12.5 recent Beta (Win10), I got no issue on any

RE: Is Sony going the evil way?
I've basically told Adobe off thanks to their service based model for software. I use some packages every week but not consistently. I wasn't about to spend $25 per month just to get the latest Adobe Photoshop and Acrobat Pro. That comes out to $300

RE: 4K home movies on UHDTV
h.265 is new technology. Whether it is to become the Kitty Hawk flyer of the 2020's is about a 50/50 shot right now. It is still terribly slow to encode and terribly hard on CPU/GPU playback capabilities. It is historically accurate that those

Musicvid10, The comparison is not on price between movie studio platinum, and Pro Tools. The comparison is being able to meet all your needs in one program. When i record music, all I need is pro tools, not pro tools plus program b plus program c

RE: Upgrading your computer while still on a project
I finished my current project, saved all of my settings, installed the new motherboard, CPU and the full (No more OEM's for me!) version of windows 10 pro, and then restored all of my settings and Vegas. Just for kicks, I tried my old boot from a

unable to use external monitor on new PC
Hi, This is my first time posting a question. I was wondering if anyone else has had issues with latest Intel hardware preventing the use of video preview in an external monitor? I recently upgraded the hardware in my main PC and now when I

    RE: MultiCam set up...
THanks Smike for the reminder. I found my set up.. it was just as you said.. I'd just been away for a bit and forgot it. And you're right...the FPS is dragging and video is stuttering. Normally this might be more of an annoyance than anything

RE: Sony Vegas Pro Has Stopped Working
I had some problems with Vegas at one time...about a year or so ago, it would either stop or just not load. I reloaded Vegas and it seemed to help but the fact it started happening 3 weeks ago tells me there's something not jiving with your PC. How

RE: Ideal RAM settings for rendering
Well, a little background here now that I'm near a PC again. When I researched this build, I did some homework on the hardware and had intentions on upgrading my current 8GB 1600 Dominator to something larger if I could capitalize on the added

    Ideal RAM settings for rendering
What I'm looking to find out is when you are setting up the BIOS, what are the ideal settings for the RAM in the BIOS as well as in the control panel? For example, page file, size allocations for Vegas etc. I just want to maximize the system

RE: What Apple products can run Sony Vegas??
I agree with Steve, the MacBook Air is not built for power. It's built to be thin and portable. My son had one because he liked the portability but once we went to college for Graphic Design and started using PhotoShop and Illustrator, he had to

RE: OT: Upgrading to Windows 10 directly, for free
An article in yesterdays paper said that Microsoft executives want everyone to upgrade to Windows 10 period. They are getting more aggressive and downloading and installing the Windows 10 even if you don't want it in some computer systems. Some of

RE: OT: Upgrading to Windows 10 directly, for free
The first upgrade was from 7. I was happy with 7 and could have stayed with it, but time marches on and so should I, or I will be dragged along kicking and screaming before long. See below. The second upgrade was from XP via 8. Version 8 I

    RE: Vegas 14 or Bust?
Trenidor, like Astar said, your overheating issue may be a hardware issue. Check your CPU cooler if it's very hot when fully loaded down. I mention this because I get overheating issues when the weather is hot i.e. in the 90s. My single fan water

RE: OT: Upgrading to Windows 10 directly, for free
Time for an update. This may only affect a few English speakers, but I just struck a Microsoft Gotcha! I originally upgraded my computers directly, which is what you had to do with the original release (Build 10240) if you wanted it for free. In so

RE: Does Sony Vegas Pro 13 work with Windows 10?
@ Gabonviper, I originally upgraded from Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit to Windows 10 pro taking advantage of the free-bee from Microsoft. While everything worked, there was a bit of flakiness in my system. After a while, I went back to Windows

OT: choosing between i7/R9-370 and i5/R9-380
Buying a new off-the-shelf computer. I live in North Bay, Ontario, so not a lot of choice locally except for national chains. And in Canada, the dollar has collapsed in comparison to major world currencies, so prices may seem high, but are the new

"There was a problem starting Setup" On the few occasions I've had this, it was because I hadn't installed all available updates to W7 before attempting the W10 upgrade. Make sure you haven't hidden any updates, even ones you don't want, and also

With the specs of your computer, I would highly recommend that you keep shooting HDV. I'm serious. You really need an Intel Core i7 to work comfortably with AVCHD or DSLR footage. You can get buy with a Core i5 with some slowness. Your AMD is going

RE: Upgraded PC & now Vegas won't start
Nope, no imaging system/software. Just pulled the old mobo\cpu\ram out, slapped the new stuff in and powered up. Windows has been able to do these kinds of hardware upgrades without choking and dying since like Windows 7 (at the very least.)
