I would like to know if there will be an upgraqde offer for those of us who own Sony Vegas Pro 13. (I have the SVP 13 Suite) As for now there is only a full price purchase option available. I would definately like to continue onboard Vegas Pro and move to v14 but not for the full price. Should I wait? How long?
I just got my email. $199.00 upgrade. Problem is, it is only good until September 27. I get paid on the 30th. Why such a severely limited time? Looks like I might miss this one...

I found my invite in my spam folder and after restoring it to my inbox it showed no life. I couldn't find a way to make my browser open up when clicking on "BUY". When using my browser to open this emailed invite in MAGIX, all I get is an offer for the full price. Must resolve by the 27th _ YIKES! Is this a serious warning?
As the MAGIX Product pages show $399/599/799 respectively, I suppose this must be regarded as an offer at least.
For upgraders, maybe not.
Is it just me? Maybe there is some marketing logic to the sequence, but making an upgrade offer, $199 for 13 + free 14, then announcing the 14 for $599, now offering Edit, Pro, and Suite for $199, $249, $349, and still no offer to upgrade from 13, seems to me is out of order! I think this is one they should have just put it all up front on the same page!
Dosen't make sense to give us a worse offer than users of earlier versions got back in July. If this is really the case I'm out. Will switch to another NLE on principle, which would be sad as I really like using Vegas and have been with it since version 9. As much as I recognise Magix have done a lot of bug fixes etc... were taking a lot on trust, particularly with things like the currently broken GPU support and outdated UI.

(EDIT: Please read my next post for a correction.......)
This deal isn't for an upgrade, nothing in the email offer about an upgrade, it's just an offer for the new release of 14 in three versions.
I would expect an upgrade offer email for current v13 users in the next few days.
I do hope so. I really, really want to keep using Vegas and am keen to support Magix getting it up to speed after a few years of neglect, but also hope that they can also appreciate we're paying for version 13.5 at the moment.
My apologies, after reviewing the email in full detail, I realize it does reference 'upgrade'. The email came from 'news@vegas.magix.net'
It doesn't mention from what version the upgrade applies for, just 'upgrade'. The exact words are, 'Get your new version today with this exclusive upgrade offer - valid until September 27th, 2016' and the line is in bold.
Selecting the Vegas Pro version it tool me to a shopping cart at $249.00. I didn't go past this point. There wasn't a reference to a previous version or serial number requirement.
Oh dear. Thank you for the clarification George. Guess I'll have to wait and see what pops into my inbox (we seem to be a day or two behind with notifications in the uk).
*I received an "upgrade offer" email last night, "from $199". The $199 appears to be for Vegas Edit, $249 for Vegas Pro, which seems to also include Mercalli, DVD Architect, and New Blue titler....Price seems a little steep for an upgrade from Vegas Pro 13.
It is unfair. I could buy Vegas 13 + 14 for $ 199, but waited for the upgrade offer. It turned out that it is better considered a new customer than the old user. I'm dissapointed.
It does not matter how long I use Vegas. It does not matter that I have certified SCVU.

Nothing unfair, early adopters often get better deals. That was a chance they took by purchasing 13 and 14 (before it was released). If you guys want Magix to be able to continue to develop Vegas, somebody has to pay for it.
I would have bought the VP13 for $199, but I already have this version. Why do I need another? It does not make sense.
I want to develop Vegas, so long buying each new version. It's not enough? It turns out that you need to buy twice the same version, or pay a higher price. Regardless of the past (certificate SCVU).
@Donald, also the earlier deal was quickly followed by Magix stating for the current v13 users to hang on, a deal was coming when v14 is released. If that was a better deal, or the same deal, I would understand the statement and I did, so I held. But this is not a same or better deal, so asking us to hang on appears to have been a trap created somewhere between Magix support (here in this forum) and the marketing department. I still think a better deal may be coming in a few days, but at this point it doesn't look good. I never expect Magix to give away software, I'll pay a fair price......but it is my decission which fair price software to purchase.
