Can the loudness log be integrated into the loudness meters (say with a button like "analyze" that analyzes the selection)? I don't really need a bunch of text files, I just want to see true peak max (how much headroom do I have) and the integrated #.

Yes, absolutely - rubber-banding has been in Vegas Pro for many years.

Highlight an audio track and hit 'V' on the keyboard. A blue line will appear along the centre of the audio track. This blue line can be keyframed by double-clicking on the point that you want and that keyframe node can be moved L or R as desired. The volume can be adjusted by dragging the node up or down with the mouse; or R click on the keyframe node and a context menu opens giving you a lot of options including a field to manually set the +/- volume adjustment if so desired.

Hitting 'V' again will make the blue line disappear but the rubber-banding settings remain in effect.

Thanks I know vp can do that I'm talking about keyframes moving with the audio like resolve

vp needs to add/ make there plugin like thisall plugins with a spectrum analyser including the eq and all plugins should correspond to the waveforms on the timeline

and if i use one gain plug-in and i turn the volume down the waveform should become smaller and if i turn my gain plug-in up the waveform should become bigger and they should all work in real-time as i'm adjusting my plugins

the mixer in fl studio looks better than the one in vegas pro vegas pro should make their sends and return just like fl studio and they should all work with analogue mixers digital mixers faderport and hardware midi keyboards and door controller

My experience is that the keyframes move up and down the timeline when rippling is activated. And yes, the keyframes move with the audio event when just moving it on the Vegas Pro timeline without ripple - I just did it. It would have been worthwhile to have tested it for yourself before posting.

I've never seen Vegas Pro keyframe audio moving with waveforms at the same time like DaVinci resolve

would vegas pro work with those https://www.solidstatelogic.com/solutions/music-production-and-mixing mixing console as a controller

it should easily work with it since Vegas Pro started as a DAW

As we know, Slow motion include optical flow algorithm to make up for lagging frames but it's operation is not so convenient. Velocity envelope is very handy but it can't make up for lagging frames.

If add a script to convert velocity envelope to slow motion keyframe, It's going to be great.

In your second screenshot you have two TDR plugins and YouLean meters. I'm using all of these in VP 18 (try 32-bit VST 2. I've also been doing work in Fairlight and while there is much I don't know I don't see the waveform on the timeline changing in realtime. The waveform does change within the plugins and you can see the results on the loudness meter.

More data about media

File/properties/general could pull up more information that the file has about how it was shot. Currently I have to use an extension ("Show Recording Data"). My Sony camera also puts out XMP files that have slightly more data (which picture profile it was shot with). It would be great for Vegas to recognize XMPs if they are in the same folder.

Sony's recording data gives extra info like WB, exposure settings, camera model.

I suggest a dialog box pop-up when entering > 8-bit footage to the timeline "For increased precision with high bit-depth sources, change project settings 32-bit video or 32-bit full mode." Give users an option not to see the prompt again.

As many programs do high-bit depth processing by default it would be helpful to inform users they need to set this manually (for now- hopefully 8-bit processing is on the way out once 32-bit performance improves).

I wish the color grading panel had midtone details. Example: Da Vinci Resolve. It seems to help get rid of more skin blemishes. And I wish the contrast was in the panel too.

Even with VEGAS Effects, the ability to sync visuals with audio sound wave is limited to 2 OFX in VEGAS Effects, unlike Adobe After Effects, you can bind almost any kind of visuals in the timeline with sounds (music, SFX etc)

If VEGAS Pro have the ability to make all OFX in the software react with the sounds in the timeline, it would be revolutionize for all NLE out there.

You can use BCC plugins reactor to bind the OFX plugin with the music in vegas pro timeline/

Most trendy Music video nowadays have the visuals (Lights, Motion Graphics, Shakes etc) react with the audio.

waveform on the timeline changing in realtime

Pro Tools does this but u have to render it than it changes but this might slow things down bc of processing power

Thay could also include epidemic sounds into the software so we have music and sound fx

And allso therd party plugins like frame io for collaboration or Synology os

I think premiere does this and final Cut pro

I'd like to be able to set media color space by just right-clicking on media and there being a color space option on the list which lets you select it and go to a menu with all color spaces without having to enter properties or another dialog.

The workflow for ACES currently is too slow. If users can customize which spaces show up or frequently used ones go to the top of the list that would be even better.

Also, default color space for video should be Rec 709 (if you use a Rec 709 video you shouldn't have to select anything for it to work in ACES) and default for photos should be sRGB.

Premiere Pro new update now have dedicated Import/edit/export kinda page with is similar to resolve.

I really wish the Import/Project media panel in VEGAS get an overhaul. Its clunky.

For media Vegas is unable to import it would be great if it gave an option to convert to a supported format using open-source conversion software.

Give a choice for high quality: ProRes (422?) or for Compact file size (h264). That would help with the many complaints that Vegas doesn't support a particular file type and buy time until they can be supported by the native decoders.
