rendering speed still too low, what can i do to make rendering faster?

bigdaddyjende-b schrieb am 23.08.2019 um 00:06 Uhr

Hi guys,

just upgraded to Vegas pro 16 so that i could use GPU legacy rendering. But still i find the speed too low. I have a 2070 GTX, AMD RYZEN 9 3900x powersupply of 850 so specs are good. But I tried to render a 30 min video on 1080 60fps and it took around 40mins..way too long in my opinion. I inclluded a printscreen of my project proporties and more. Please let me know what i could do

But what are your source files?

Your project says interlaced, your render says progressive. Which is it? Do you know that deinterlacing takes a LOT longer? Why do you not have a project deinterlace method chosen? You would need that....

What effects / cropping and titles do you have on the timeline? You see, it all makes a difference.

@bigdaddyjende-b You might want to try the Magix AVC render templates instead of Sony AVC. The Magix AVC NVenc template should be the fastest for you.

Also, only have your project settings set to interlaced if your source media is also interlaced, otherwise you're losing half your pixels per frame.

Yep with both VP16 & VP17 the Sony XAVCS does not show any significant boost in render times with GPU. As others say you must use Magix AVC templates to give some improvement. 40min to render a 30 min video for the Sony seems quite good to me. My i5 at 4.08GHz takes a tad longer that this.

The best rendertemplate in VP16 you can use is this customized Magix AVC FHD template

If you don't see that Nvidia NVENC option you have to set your NVidia GPU driverversion to the last Studio 431.70 version.

With me it is, unless the much higher bitrate for the default template, 2,3 times faster.
1 min. render in Sony AVC takes 91 sec, same in Magix AVC 39 sec.

Your video is Variable Frame Rate. It is not natively compatible with VP16.

Convert to constant frame rate mp4 in Handbrake first.

Could you plz help me with how to see where it says interlaced and stuff. I dont know this yet

Tutorial Section is here. MATCH your source, project, and render properties, and give Vegas a chance to get it right. You are changing stuff.

The Magix AVC template with Mainconcept chosen as the encoder generates the same YouTube-compatible moov fast start atom in its output as the Sony AVC... it's just a bit faster rendering than the cpu-only setting of the Sony AVC.

Just the opposite.. The lower the bit rate the faster the rendering. Quality vs Speed , It's a compromise when we want both. Higher bit rates also produce larger files as well if that's a factor.

But what are your source files?

https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-how-to-post-mediainfo-and-vegas-pro-file-properties--104561/

Your project says interlaced, your render says progressive. Which is it? Do you know that deinterlacing takes a LOT longer? Why do you not have a project deinterlace method chosen? You would need that....

What effects / cropping and titles do you have on the timeline? You see, it all makes a difference.

Sorry for late reply but was working. Here is the Media info file
