60FPS Stress Test for Previews, Players, Media and Streaming Servers

Musicvid wrote on 6/18/2021, 8:38 PM

Here is a high motion VP18 FPS (Video FRAMES PER SECOND) test project and lightweight MP4 test media, 2160 p60 and 1080p60. I threw these together while it was 104° (40°C) last weekend. It's self explanatory; keeping eyes stationary, if you see colors and you are not a cyborg, you are having drops. Also render in VP18 to test preview settings, streaming platforms, etc.

Hardware: my signature;
Roomtemp: ca. 32°C;
Project changed to 59.9fps for default render template.
Best-Quarter preview: full fps.

Render results:

1, ProRes422=01:16
2, MagixAVC=01:29; AVC(AMDVCE)=01:10
3, MagixHEVC=02:44; HEVC(AMDVCE)=01:09
4, Sony XAVC-Intra=01:54

During rendering the GPU-fan started till around 600RPS.

Isn't this a test intended to show if there are frame drops vs a rendering speed test?

none of them. the heat in summer.

@ @alifftudm95, thanks.

Rechecked: the preview wasn't really all full speed, only in the middle. the beginning and end there's drops, but not heavy.

Rendering Magix AVC (Amd VCE) -- such a huge difference?! I think you hadn't changed the project frame rate to 59.9fps.

PS: from where do you have a button "original" on the preview window?

@Yelandkeil

It is a FPS (Video FRAMES PER SECOND) playback test only.

It has no relevance to your observations that I am able to determine or had intended. Try not to read anything more into it.

Sorry that didn't come through in your local translation.

Musicvid wrote on 6/19/2021, 11:16 AM

The test project is 60.000 fps.

😪just misread this sentence, I threw these together while it was 104° (40°C) last weekend.

And here by us it begins the summer hot.

However, a good stress testproject to run.

Thank you.

Just my brain has suffered from overheating, the CPU is rendering at a comfortable 80°.
