System Error

Junebug schrieb am 09.08.2022 um 03:13 Uhr

I got this System Error yesterday: The Code execution cannot proceed because MSVCP110.dill was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem. I tried to un install my program but every time I try to then reinstall it my computer still says it is installed! So I have no idea of how to fix this issue? Has anyone had this happen to them and if so how did you fix it. I have Vegas 15 running on a PC. Thank you so much! Jennifer

Reinstall your graphics drivers. If that doesn't help, start the troubleshooting process here:

I first recommend you trying to uninstall Vegas from control panel as it will remove all of the files completely leaving no trace of it behind that may interrupt next install/re-install process

If however Vegas cannot be found in the section above, your next best option is to type Vegas in the windows search and look at every possible path and location the program could be in

You'll be deleting the folder named "VEGAS" in Program Files.

If the folder is not there, that means VEGAS has been removed unless you forgot to empty your recycling bin.

If this still doesn't work, then it means there's still traces of Vegas left somewhere in your system meaning you'll have to go and look through whatever there is left from either MAGIX, Sony, or VEGAS and you'll have to delete every piece of file there is.

Don't worry as you won't have to delete your Project files since they don't affect it.

Usually when I encounter a .DLL problem with Vegas or any other Application/Executable I would just remove/uninstall every part of the software and re-install it again. If the Dynamic Link Library file wasn't found then this is either a location unknown problem where the program can't identify where the Library file is, the installer simply skipped past it, or the file could've been corrupted.

If however the error is consistent, then I just install it straight off the internet through https://www.dll-files.com/

Also don't mind me, I kind of like giving the most options possible for problems that occur if I know them. Some of my responses get long some times ^^'

Usually when I encounter a .DLL problem with Vegas or any other Application/Executable I would just remove/uninstall every part of the software and re-install it again.

That's your choice. But when advising others on an open forum who may or may not have your level of experience, it is always best to offer the least destructive advice first, lest your suggestions create more harm than good to another's system. That is my first responsibility as a field engineer and corporate technical trainer of fifty years.

"Should" such advice seem advisable after gathering all of the relevant information, I would precede it with a number of cautious warnings, starting with a full system and application backup, having all serial numbers and registrations at hand first, and then using the appropriate tools at hand, which in this case, are here:

https://www.revouninstaller.com/revo-uninstaller-free-download/

and here:

https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-how-can-i-do-a-clean-uninstall-of-vegas-pro--111205/

As far as blindly sniffing out every registry entry and leftover file from a previous Vegas installation, you are obviously more determined and astute at editing the registry than me, and I can't for the life of me imagine how I would feel if my advice resulted in a new user being left with a crippled system and without a lifeline.

Those responsibilities are the things I look at first, before laying my broad wisdom and sage advice on the hapless. Welcome to the forum.

Welcome to the forums.

Good point. I've been working with tech for a while that at points I forget small details that could leave the system unresponsive, I do try however to tell it in a way without breaking any system files. Although what I had stated did not meant any modification towards registries, just plain files leftover by Vegas when you remove it improperly.

Yes I would also recommend Revo Uninstaller to completely remove Vegas.

About the DLL files website, it's just a drag and drop into System32 where the rest of the libraries are or if possible, the folder where the program is installed in which most users will usually choose the default folder. No damage is done there if no files are modified and no virus file is added. By modify I mean by renaming, manually removing, or changing any aspect of those specified files within

Out of subject: If the fear is from losing files because Windows needs to be re-installed, then setting those files into an external hard drive is your best option for you to keep them. When that's done then Windows can be fully re-installed and things will go back to normal. I added this bit because Windows loves to corrupt over time and it's no one's fault but Microsoft lack of registries integrity.
