Hallo. Iv got camera sony hdr-hc5. got m2t video files from her - 1080 50i mpeg2 1440x1080 25mbit/s. goal is to convert all videos to youtube 1080 50p. when i upload files directly to youtube i dont have 50p format. whn i try some universal decoders to h264 mp4 - result is terrible. video strecht vertically and have dont know how to call it maybe "interlaced bugs" or lines. so this decoded video deffinetly cannot be uploaded to yutube. please help, how i can  get maximum quality from this format?

Use Handbrake with the default settings.

You need to deinterlace it

Handbrake is a good suggestion, but if you have Vegas Pro 14.0 and a compatible GPU then you can use the new Smart Adaptive deinterlacing, which is pretty good. Set your Project Properties like this:

And render to Sony AVC/AAC with custom settings like this:

It probably won't look quite as good as a render from Handbrake and the file will be bigger, but it's a simpler route without installing a 3rd-party application. You could experiment with reducing the bit rate to see if the quality is still acceptable to you.

Edit: You probably won't get smooth timeline 1080-50p playback at "Best (Full)" with smart deinterlace on! But the rendered file should play smoothly.
