If your Outlook search fails, or your machine slows to a slug's pace and that green bar never goes away, uninstall it and delay reinstall as long as possible. It's replacement "may" be better. Spent all day yesterday.....

KB5008212 installed here on 17 December 2021. I haven't noticed any particular problems. I've had other updates since.

I had to reboot my system from USB, after 2 failed attempts got a system restore point to take hold, from there it took all night to uninstall the security update; unfortunately it reinstalled itself spontaneously, but fortunately it's working and my computer is spiffy again. Just like last spring -- it is the installation routine that is failing, I've now confirmed that twice. I have wired LAN to my router / modem and adequate 20Mbps download speed.

So last night Windows update uninstalled KB5008212 and replaced it with KB5009543. I'm taking that as a confession.

KB5009543 installed for me on 14 Jan 2022. How do I check if KB5008212 was uninstalled. It still appears in the Quality Updates list.

It disappeared, Eric, Windows updated when I restarted last night.

The old one disappeared and the new one appeared; that's all I know. Computer seems to be working smoothly.

KB5008212 was widely implicated on the internet for breaking Outlook, their own product.
