Any way to save this footage?

David-Weathersby wrote on 12/18/2018, 4:26 PM

I had a shoot at a club with very low light and strobe lights. My assistant was shot some footage I'd like to use but they were shooting into flashing lights and I believe they had the wrong shutter speed and that caused 1/3 bands across the footage. I've attached a sample of it. Is there anyway to reduce the effect?

Rolling shutter and LED strobes don't mix at any shutter speed -- just enjoy it as it is.

Thanks! That's what I thought. I was wondering if there was anything new that has developed so I could use the footage.

Yes, your imagination. I like it.

When I have unintended footage like this I sometimes try adding more glitches, leaks and fx to make it look intentional. People go to a lot of trouble taking perfect footage and then doctoring it to look just like yours does.

Yeah I think I'll see if I can salvage it with some effects.

You also do not want to let lasers scan your camera sensor like that. That particular laser is a weak one (still shouldn't be scanning the crowd, but whatever), but if it were any brighter, it will damage your sensor. Projectors are also vulnerable. I've seen 2 $80k projectors get ruined with one split second scan.

Thanks. Honestly I was not aware of how damaging lasers could be. Thanks again

@David-Weathersby

Frosty's comment is true.

In the next time upload videos with better quality, or send a small part of the original video, so it will be easier to evaluate.

Your video will not stay 100% but it can be improved. Use the New Blue FX Flash Remover Pro.

I did a little test here with the video you sent and it has improved.

Thank you so much! Thank is improved. I'll have to pick up New Blue. Sorry for the low quality video. I think I rendered it wrong.
