Audio file from Vegas Post Hub shows up as copyrighted in YouTube.

Todd-Fink wrote on 4/22/2022, 12:35 PM

I used a song in Vegas Hub (in Vegas Post version) which is supposed to be copyright free from Vegas. However, I received an email from YouTube after I uploaded a video with this song in it stating that it was copyrighted. The song is Epic And Emotion. I don't know how to contact Vegas directly to provide feedback so I'm posting this here. This is concerning because all the files on Vegas Hub are supposed to be copyright free. Following is the email from YouTube:

Hi HolyLandSite,

A copyright owner using Content ID has claimed some material in your video.

Your video is live and the visibility settings you selected remain applied to it. But it is now either being monetized by the copyright owner, or they have chosen to receive analytics about it.

This is not a copyright strike. This claim does not affect your account status.

Video title: Noah's Ark Great Flood Q&A Video #3 Final Render
Copyrighted content: Epic And Emotion
Claimed by: HAAWK for a 3rd Party

challenge it on youtube and give all information about where you obtained it. many people claim copyrights that are not theirs

It's a scam; challenge it and the encumbrance "may" be removed in a year or so, at least that was my experience.

@Todd-Fink Challenge it using the text suggested in the link as shown by @walter-i. I had a copyright claim on three successive YouTube videos. I challenged successfully each time, the claim was rejected within hours. Subsequent videos using the same material processed without any claim.

That's great to hear, Jack.

@RogerS I've just attempted to publish another tutorial. I've had the same claim raised for the same audio file that's been successfully contested three times. Guess I'll just have to keep contesting.

My YT posts are very, very limited, but I haven't included music. The thing that occurs to me is that YT seems to have no process in place to identify and block serial scam copyright contesters. But if one of my videos included something anti-Woke, it would probably be blocked within seconds.
