Audio Problems with Voicemeeter

Hello, running Vegas Pro 17 Build 455. I recently swapped out my pc and was reinstalling Vegas. I have Voicemeeter set up in the most basic way possible. The only reason I have it is because my Snowball mic sounds lifeless without it. I now have a problem where if I start my pc, audio works fine. However, if I start Vegas, all audio dies and I have to restart the engine within Voicemeeter. When I do restart the engine and add video to my project, the audio sound pitched down. This is off a clean install and I have made no changes other than choosing VM in my preferences. Below are some screenshots that I hope are helpful.

When I do restart the engine and add video to my project, the audio sound pitched down.

Check the sample rate. This usually happens if there is a mismatch.

Voicemeeter looks to be set to 44.1 kHz and your project might be set to 48kHz.

Thank you so much, that changed the pitch problem. Now I just need to figure out why I need to restart the VM engine after I start Vegas.

Can you try a non asio driver in Vegas preferences?

Another thing to try could be to toggle the exclusive mode in windows sound settings.

It's straightforward: Voicemeeter hijacks whatever output audio drivers you have assigned to it when it is open, sometimes several at the same time, depending on how they are assigned to A1,A2, and A3.

Therefore, you must run different I/O Drivers with Vegas (e.g: ASIO4ALL) if you plan to use them at the same time, or else route Voicemeeter Virtual I/O ports through Vegas. I simply wouldn't bother with it...

The only reason I have it is because my Snowball mic sounds lifeless without it.

That is simply not correct. Although a great mixer, Voicemeeter native signal processing is rather rudimentary and incomplete.

There are plenty of ways to EQ, Compress, and Limit your mic without having Voicemeeter running, including the excellent eFX and VST2 Plugins available within Vegas itself!

Thank you. I should clarify, when using my mic w/out VM for other things (Zoom meetings etc) I find it to be very quiet.
