automatic synchronization of multiple audio tracks

Hi. Brand new to the product and forum, please bear with me.

i just bought vegas pro-17 so i could automatically synchronize multiple audio tracks to a video track that also has audio from same event. after enabling the automatic sync function, i keep getting a message that says event cannot be synced to the reference event. and when the message does not appear, the alignment goes really wacky out of sync. I am in tools, multicamera. , enable multi camera editing. and synchronize audio to align events. i have one track of video from a camera with accompanying audio track, and a separate audio track from an audio recorder, of same event and audio. three tracks in total. i use the select tool to click on the two audio tracks. and then invoke synchronize to .... i figure the problem must be my setup, but i am totally new to this program and in over my head. lol . Help please! On windows 10 system. thank you.

In order to sync events using timecode, you must have freerun SMPTE timecode with Genlock in all the events. It's a safe bet you don't.

You can try Pluraleyes or you can sync manually.

Is it possible to synchronize material with 2 gh5 cameras in vegas pro 18 and how?

@Musicvid the op is referring to the auto-sync feature that doesn't require timecode.

Systems:

Desktop

AMD Ryzen 7 1800x 8 core 16 thread at stock speed

64GB 3000mhz DDR4

Geforce RTX 3090

Windows 10

Laptop:

ASUS Zenbook Pro Duo 32GB (9980HK CPU, RTX 2060 GPU, dual 4K touch screens, main one OLED HDR)

Now I remember seeing something about it. How is this feature working out? Does one select corresponding areas in tracks to narrow scrutiny? Is it as robust as Pluraleyes?

18 is advertised as being able to do what plural eyes does. i cant get it to do that, although there is a fellow on you tube who succeeds in doing just that. thanks for responding

That one fellow is me and it was sheer luck.

As @Musicvid suggests, you need to have SMPTE and Genlock aboard your items.

These require accessories for your camera, if I'm not mistaken.

With PluralEyes or other sound based sync utilities, it is based on the audio tracks, A high quality track on the audio recorder and awful sounding cam mic track will not always sync well.. or at all. I usually put Comteks (or other IFBs) on the cams (cam hop) when TC is not possible.

It's a safe bet the Vegas sync function is a WIP. It's not a small order.
