Bad render quality - stripes on sky

Hello. I just bought Gopro Hero 7 Black, becouse I wanted better quality for my motorbike videos. But when I render them with Vegas Pro 17, the quality goes down. Original video is 78MBps 4K60 HEVC mp4, so I used export settings: HEVC mp4, 4K 60 (59,...), bitrate 80 000 000 bps max, 80 000 000 bps avg, best project quality and high quality setting. I am using that AMD profile which uses my Radeon GPU.

I know I am comparing different frames, but the stripes are here always and they are moving, when video is played.

Any Idea what to change to get render original quality? I don't care about file size, It can be as large as original, just need to cut, edit, join clips together, some translations atd. without loosing quality.

AMD/NVIDIA/Intel profiles are for speed. Use CPU only encoding profile for quality. Also, do not set avg bitrate equal to max bitrate. Max must be higher.

For the best quality you should use x264 encoder that is available in Happy Otter Scripts or Voukoder.

Hello, thank you for advice. I tried but when I use only CPU encoding, the file is strange. I am not able to play it, it works for second, than the player becomes freezed and close. I tried four different players. Other renders and original file (78MBps) are played fine. Also the time is crazy, It takes 15 minutes to render 5 second video with Ryzen 5 1600 @3,7GHz

That is not a known problem, so I suspect your encoding settings are responsible. Details, please, for both source and render as per the directions:

This is not banding. This is blocking caused by the encoders internal configuration (not the encoders settings) and mostly noticeable on big "plain" areas with gradients. High bitrate does not help much. Many modern mobiles' encoders are also affected.

Suggest you upload a short sample of the original footage where it can be downloaded for testing.

So. @wwaag I would like to, but I am not able to cut the video without loosing quality :/ Tried to render in AVC without GPU - also having that artifacts, render in HEVC without GPU made completely broken file again.
