Blackmagic Intensity Pro 4K recognized by Vegas' capture tool?

I have a Blackmagic Intensity Pro 4K PCIe HDMI capture card in a Xeon 3.5GHz/32GB-build (full-specs in sig) running Vegas Movie Studio 17, but plan to upgrade to Vegas Pro 18 in the next few days. Windows' device manager sees the card and ingests fine using Blackmagic's Media Express capture software; however, Vegas' capture tool doesn't see the card. Is anyone here able to successfully capture HDMI-input from within Vegas using the Blackmagic Intensity? Both Windows 10 Pro 64-bit/VMS 17.0 (build 221) have all current updates. Thanks!

No, you can't capture HDMI with Vegas' legacy Firewire utility.

Oh, well. Thanks for your answer! Will soon have a FireWire capture card also, so hopefully that will work from within Vegas' capture tool (I just ordered a VIA chipset PCIe FireWire card off Amazon, and am returning the TI-chipset card I got from B+H, which Windows doesn't recognize).

Did you use the downloadable Windows Legacy Firewire Drivers with your TI Chipset? I ask because they usually work, but you will find more information here, and good luck.

I am sure you already know that the Firewire card will capture Standard Definition DV Camcorder tapes only, not 4K!

I don't know if VMS has the HDV/SDI capture option, but using that in Vegas Pro, I can capture from a Blackmagic Intensity HDMI (not 4k). You might try that. I can also capture using Virtualdbub.

Muscivid: Yup! I sure did! Followed all the instructions in the studio1 article and the driver install seemed successful. Windows' device manager just never saw the card either pre- or post-install of the legacy driver (tried installing in different PCIe slots, re-booting, BIOS checked, etc.).

DougT: So you're able to capture an HDMI-source from the Blackmagic Intensity card from within Vegas Pro? (I'll be upgrading to Vegas Pro soon). All of my HDMI source-video is only 1080p24/240 (all DVCAM is only 480p24). Even if I can't, Blackmagic's Media Express app works fine, though of course it would be more convenient to capture from within Vegas.

I can capture from Vegas Pro. Again, though I am using an older version card that is not 4k capable so i don't swear it will work with the newer cards. Your codecs are more limited though so I find it better to either capture using the Blackmagic software or Virtualdub.
