Brief "echo" sound occurs at start of playback

I'm using Movie Studio 16.0 Platinum. I'm very much a beginner at this, and mostly use it for editing recordings of myself to post on YouTube or Facebook.

When I start playback (either in the project window or the rendered MP4), there's often brief sound that sounds like an echo of the first guitar note or chord played (or sung) within the project. Does anyone know what causes this, and what I can do to prevent it?

It doesn't happen every time, but more often than not. And since my projects are admittedly amateur, and my audience forgiving, it's not that big a deal, but as I (hopefully) improve the quality of my work in the future, it would be nice to clear this up.

Thanks!

Try changing the Audio Device playback buffering settings "Options> Preferences> Audio Device".. or .. maybe try a different device, which depends on your system.

Disable all unused audio inputs.

Figured it out. It was a reverb plugin I was using (EpicVerb). Switched it off and the noise disappears. Replaced it with ExpressFX Reverb.
