burning to DVD

I have been using the Vegas Studio Platinum 12 for quite some time and never had a problem with the program. On my latest project, when I ask the program to make a movie, it goes through the rendering process without error, preparing the disc without problem but when it is in the last phase "Burning Tracks", it starts the process but stops suddenly with the following messages: "The device failed to accept the command within the timeout period. This may be caused by the device having entered an inconsistent state or timeout value for the command may need to be increased". When I press OK, another window fro Platinum 12 says: " An error occurred during the current operation. Error 0xc0aa020d - (Message missing). I can't figure it out or how to fix it.. Help please!! Thank you. PJ

It could be that the program is having trouble interfacing with your disc drive. If you are using DVD Architect to output you DVD files, you have the option of saving Prepared Files -- which saves your video to your hard drive so that you can output to a disc later. This is a workaround. But if you are burning directly to a disc from Movie Studio, I'm not sure you have this option.

I've encountered errors similar to this from using cheapo discs.
