Can I install Platimun 11 on a Windows 10 PC

Hi All,

I have not used my copy of Vegas Movie Studio 11 Platinum for a while as I am not a professional editor, I just use it from time to time. Since I last used the software I have upgraded to a new PC running Windows 10.

When I tried to install the software to the new PC, the installation is failing when it attempts to install .net 3.5 saying there is corruption in the installation file. I have downloaded the installation again, but still the problem persists.

Can I use Platinum 11 on Windows 10? Or do I need to upgrade the software?

If I need to upgrade, can you point me to the website I should be buying it from?

Thanks,

Alan

Greetings, in terms of upgrading, please note that new latest Movie Studio is no longer developed by VEGAS Team, but by Magix, based on their Magix Movie Edit Pro

So your option to upgrade will go to VEGAS EDIT Version, and you have two options of purchase, perpetual one time purchase, or Subscription version

You can try the Free Trial first to make sure the application is compatible.

There is another way to potentially get .NET 3.5 to install. Right click the Windows 10 Start menu (far left on the taskbar) and then in the context menu that opens click on Apps & Features (should be top of the list). In the far top RH corner of the A&F window that opens is a heading 'Related Settings'. Click on the 'Programs and Features' link under Related Settings and in the top LH corner of the window that opens, click on 'Turn Windows Features On or Off'. In the new window that opens, the top item should be .NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0). The checkbox for that item should either be unchecked or greyed. Click on the '+' symbol next to the checkbox so that 2 sub-items display. Click on the 2 sub-items so that all 3 items have a tick in the checkbox. Windows 10 should then auto install .NET 3.5.

After reinstalling Windows 10 a few times or with a new computer, I've had to do this each time in order to get DVD Architect 6.0 to install.
