Can we get official support for .mkv files already?

Sadly I had to redownload a fresh copy of Windows on my computer and my VEGAS Edit 2015 doesn't support .mkv files anymore. I forgot how I got it to work, but now I'm just in shock that it hasn't been integrated with the software yet.

It's 2020, and somehow MAGIX is charging $400, sometimes $500+ for this software yet it doesn't cater to all the formats which is just dumb, it has been like this since the first software release of VEGAS.

Support the codec or give us the ability to enable it via the software settings.

If you're downloading MKV from youtube, it's going to be VP9. I don't understand why NLE's dont' support VP9, but they usually don't even though VP9 is license free and GPU's support VP9 decoding.

I knew I had an editor that could use VP9 and surprisingly It's FIlmora9. I just tried with a youtube VP9 clip, there are no problems, so doesn't seem to be a technical issue.

MKV is a wrapper, not a codec. As such, it can support hundreds of codecs -- some commercial, some open source, and the licensure is the issue. Happy Otter Scripts opens VP9/MKV.
