When I tried to import it, the program downloaded a new codec, but still wouldn't import the file. "The number of channels is not supported." I tried in both a stereo setup and a 5.1 setup, both in 4K video. Any assistance? Thanks.
Ah, I did not know the drill, but thanks for the tip .... here's the media info for the source file which I could not import or convert:

The file will open in VEGAS Pro 13, 14 and 15. It won't open in VMSP 14 or 15. The same is true of i am erikd's Sony FS7 MXF file (now offline) from this comment. I don't know if this is by design or by accident, but I suspect it might be by design, to differentiate the 2 products.
The mxfxavc plugin folder (that contains the decoder) in VMSP is very similar to that in VP; just a small difference in size of mxfxavc.dll.
