Capture NDI to MIDI Timecode?

Hi!
We have a new OB van for audio production where we also need a camera for watching the stage, and we're looking at a PTZ camera that's powered on Ethernet and can send NDI/HX. Ideally, I would like to be able to record this video locked to timecode (MIDI TimeCode or LTC) from our multitrack recording PC so that I could play back the video in somewhat sync to the audio later for re-mixing.

Can Vegas capture NDI video to the timeline, locked to MTC or LTC?

Playing back video locked to MTC seems easy enough, but recording the video with MTC seems non-existant.

I don't know what is available today; I didn't know MTC is used for syncing audio to video.

Traditionally, this has been done with SMPTE Freerun TC slaved to the master camera with Genlock, but that was over a decade ago.

Thanks. I don’t know that it’s widely done, it’s just what I have available and was thinking of doing. I’m surprised to find that it’s nigh impossible to record video and burn in MTC.

It was never designed that way; MTC came about long after SMPTE was in use, and MIDI was originally used to sync pulsed binary events, not A/V streams. Do your cameras and audio recorders have 4-pin XLR type connectors?
